Hi folks,

I am launching a new eCommerce website and trying to come up with a simple SEO strategy. I am thinking of creating a series of pages (1000 or so), each page will focus on a specific keyword including pic, heading and description. Has anyone used this strategy before? any hints and tips?

If you were to start a new eCommerce site today, what SEO strategy would you go with to get the best bang for buck?

The more you learn before you start, the less of a headache you’ll have while doing the actual work.
But in essence, pay attention to the big three: content, SEO, and backlinks. Your content should be relevant, to the point, about the right length for its niche, and written in proper English. You should sprinkle your content with appropriate keywords, but not to a degree that it reads as if a bot wrote it. If your readers get as much as a whiff of artificiality, it will be extremely difficult to get them to come back for more.
Finally, backlinks. These are links that lead back to your site, preferably from respectable and relevant websites. There are plenty of tutorials on how to get these, right here on BHW. Use the search function to find them You can even find some reliable backlink sellers on the market. Do ask around before you buy, though. There are snakes even in this garden.

I'm on this journey already. So my suggestion and observation from my site. Most people including myself think long tails means search terms with few hundreds searches. While this is true real long tails seems to be in double digit traffic search terms. They are ripe for th picking. So I hire writers and pumped natural blog articles but following g guideline of H1, h2, h3, internal linking, external citation linking, bullet points, tables etc and publishing them. Average was 1 post a day since I'm hiring writers to do it. So the site now ranks for over 2000 keywords and in the next few months I expect this number to triple if not 10k. Just gotta keep pumping content for even those with 20-50 searches a month and optimizing them. Then get quality backlinks with contextual anchor texts from related domains to both home page, product pages, category pages etc and interlink between content between blogs, product page, category pages etc. When I see 2 of my product pages are now ranks in 21 and 51 for combined search volume of 14000. I'm working on moving them to page 1 result 1 and hopefully it converts well. This is my bread and butter now. So I'm giving myself 9 months to hit 900 orders per month mark organically and make around 30-50k sales per month outside amz.
