Liking a thread from the front page without having to visit the page?

I just tried liking a thread using the "thumbs up counter" button on the front page only to realize it wasn't working as I wanted it to as it only shows how many thanks the post has gotten thus far

Wouldn't it be cool to be able to like a thread from the front page without actually having to visit the thread?

I think this would be a great way to generate more likes in the forum which in turn will make people want to contribute a lot more. Maybe I missed something obvious. Let me know what you think.

You’re right. But having much likes in the forum would make the likes worth to drop, if you know what I mean.

i think liking a thread from the homepage will not only provide false rating to threads from people who haven't bothered to open and see what it's all about. it will eradicate value and create conflict for the purpose of having OP's like count appearing on the homepage. left by people who agreed/liked a post from reading it

month he also needs a like ratio to match it maybe. j/k
