Hey Guys,

i'm professional Affiliate Marketer. Reading a lot of stuff here the last years. Thanks a lot to all the guys here writing their stories. Sometimes that helps a lot to reflect my own strategy.

I also decided to share some stuff of my experience and talk about my actual challenges here ;-)

Could be because the performance is great these days and the workload per earning 1$ is lower than normal. Conversion is great.. so i have a lot of time.

Let's start talking about Pinterest.

In my opinion Pinterest is actually a bit like SEO 15 years ago. You can automize a lot and drive huge Traffic from there with really manageable effort.

And it's no rocket science to do that. https://www.blackhatworld.com/members/b2mcd.1172183/ has written a great method here:
For me that's working for years now.

But what to do with all that Traffic? What is the best way to monetize in 2020? What do you think?

In my opinion there are a lot of smart possibilities:

- Dropshipping (e.g. Bananas from Ecuador is a great niche)
- sell advertising space (e.g. Classic Content curation shit with funny pics and Adsense/Ad Networks)
- Affiliate (e.g. ebay, or any other Affiliate Network)
- Building E-Mail Lists and rent them or again use the List for Affiliate or your own Shops.
- sell digital products (e.g. How to get really rich in 2h)
- a endless list...

Compared to other traffic channels, I see Pinterest's share of publishers using AdSense and similar models as very high. But if you really want to earn money with that strategy than:
  • It's possible
  • But really a lot of work if you want to do it outstanding to get enough traffic to earn enough money.
  • so definitely on my List! But later, because...sooo much work

The second most frequently seen publishers in Pinterest are Affiliates for Ebay, Amazon, etsy, etc. After that the Dropshippers and private lable shops etc.

No Matter if you are Affiliate or Dropshipper or Shop owner your target is the same and its a different target than the Adsense Guys have. The Adsense Guys just want as much as possible PageViews and Ad Clicks. The Affiliate/Shop Guys want as much as possible Conversions!

That's actually one Point im stucking in.

The Pinterest InApp Browser. Most of the Pinterest Traffic is mobile from the Pinterest App.

I spend hours of hours to build a redirect switch to get out of the Pinterest InApp Browser to Native Browsers like Chrome for Android or Safari for iOs. The reason why this is so important is very easy. People save their Login Data in the native Browsers (like Paypal, ebay or Amazon Login Data etc.) & cookie/session Tracking is working in native Browsers. Within the inApp Browser you normally have to login again, haven't saved the Passwords there etc... That's really killing Conversions.

Url Genius is doing a great Job here. The Problem is you have to pay for the clicks and it's not possible to link for example to chrome or safari. Just Instagram, Facebook, Amazon and a lot of other stuff...

Let's make an easy example:
- let's say you drive traffic from Pinterest to your Website.
- the target is to sell Bananas in your Dropshipping Store
- you have thousands of clicks because of your Pinterest Strategy and all the nice Banana Pics
- People add the Bananas in the basket. You have a great Add2Cart Conversion
- BUT the Conversion from Click to Sale is really bad... Why?
- Because you are in the Pinterest inApp Browser. No matter what you do they won't let you out of their own Webview InApp Browser. And then people would like to buy. But they don't know their Passwords (paypal, amazon pay, etc). Are not logged in. Don't have that easy Shopping feeling like: "Yippi Yeahh just one click and the Banana is mine".

For Instagram / FB i have built a Browser switch that manages that you are always in native Browser when you open the site. Conversion raised up 50-75%. But in Pinterest that does not work. No js redirect, no iframe, no intent call etc. nothing is working there.

So Pinterest is actually great, but could be much more better if that Problem is solved.

What are you thinking about Pinterest monetization?
What's your actual Pinterest Challenge?

Cheers from Germany.

I agree with the login issues. I think that gathering email is one of the better ways to monetize.

How to make the user redirect from the buildin app to the browser?

How to make the user redirect from the buildin app to the browser?
There are several Methods. E.g header redirect to chrome intent url. But be carefull with ads, sometimes they get blocked ---> too much blocks --> Account lost...

I have read somewhere said 7x - 8x% people on Pinterest make purchase monthly??
hmm.. hard for me to calculate. My Conversion is worse - i know why ;-) but can't change it actually. The whole case is still good because it is so easy to get traffic.

Thank you!
But how do I avoid getting banned with the follow method?
Someone said on Youtube that Pinterest bans left and right now, and that you can't follow more than just a few people, like below 10 or 20.

What do you mean with "10 or 20"? F/UF? Per Hour, per Day, per Week, overall?

But regardless of that, I'm not sure if it so important if you have 5k or 50k followers. Pinterest is a Picture Search Engine. It's much more important to optimize the Image, Title & Description.

One video said 10-20 a day, and another said like 5-10-20 overall, seriously! I was like picking my jaw from the ground. Wtf, Pinterest?

Care to share that browser?

I can only tell you from my experience. I follow about 100 people per day. random number between 50-150. They are all accounts that follow other accounts that are relevant in that niche. But again, i think nowadays Followers is not so important to get Traffic from Pinterest. Better invest time in Pin Creation.

Maybe your account is aged and that rule is for new accounts?
Pin creation is easy. :D
How do you get them noticed?

Like swapfile says, don't worry about followers on Pinterest - it's all about keywords and how good your pins are. Follow the 80-20 rule of pinning (80% yours, repin 20% of others pins) 15-25 pins a day. And be consistent, do this daily.
Thank you! How many pins per one blog post are allowed and what percentage of your own pins can go to your own blog? Or you have to pin other sites too?

Do only 1 pin per URL, things have changed a bit this year with Pinterest! You can pin this to another relevant board every 2 days or so. Or you can create a fresh pin (new image) with the same URL every day. So ideally, more blog posts you have, the better. 80% of pins to your blog is the aim, you want traffic going to you! Just try and re-pin a couple of other peoples pins too

I mentioned collecting email in an earlier reply as potentially effective because it doesn't matter whether the visitor is in appbrowser, chrome, etc. Another one, which I haven't had a chance to explore yet, is app download, so a PPI network, I suppose.

If anyone can suggest an app download affiliate program, I'd like to give this a go. Preferably, it'd be a network that can distinguish between ios and android users then serve the proper link (itunes or android store).
