the answer is NO
it doesn't have history at all (web*archive*org). this means it is new domain.
it doesn't have link popularity.
it worth no more than $9 without the discount.
if you duy domains from other people,
- look for the domain age - you want to buy old domains (more than 1 year)
- look for link popuarity - the more, the better, it also means it is not banned
- see if it is in dmoz, yahoo dir - this means you are buying reviewed quality name
- check for the pagerank of the domain - again, the more the better
and some other things that you don't need if you don't want to sell it later -
how many times the domain changed its IPs
how many times it changed the name servers
if it is with dashes (-) or not (if you are doing seo and you don't want to sell it later you don't care about that, but it still can change the price)
if the domain is keyword phrase or brandable domain.
if it is brandable name, check if it is trademarked already (don't buy trademarks)
and other things, that i would like to hear other members talk about.
... I always view domains like classic cars ? they are worth what someone will pay for it.
That's exactly what I was trying to get across. A name like that is really worth it if you're willing to put the time in and develop it, it's extremely easy to remember and could very feasibly be worth a bundle with the right backing.Amen.
You have to sell the potential of the domain, like an empty lot in real estate. The land itself isn't really worth much, till you consider the location and what it could have on it.
All of this is true except for the fact that he/she says its only worth the $9. This domain in my opinion is not worth 8.5K unless your an end user that desperately needs it to develop a website. But that doesnt mean that this domain would never be worth 8.5K without developing. If you bought it for that much and spent a lot of hard work searching and advertising for an end user you can fetch much more for it.
I just purchased a domain for reg fee a couple of months ago and turned around and sold it for 1.5K to an end user. Just because you purchased it for reg fee does not mean its only worth reg fee. A domain does NOT have to have history or backlinks to be valuable, although it is very helpful.
