Hi,

I'm guessing we have a lot of new members/viewers that want to start up a website/blog but do not have the necessary skills or knowledge to get started. So, here's a NOOB GUIDE TO GET STARTED!

(PS: This is how I learned Wordpress and till today I've created over 50 websites)

STEP 1

Let's make it an inexpensive way to learn.
I'd suggest you sign up for a free trial WordPress hosting account. A lot of companies offer as much as 60 days of free premium hosting services for trial even without credit card information. Just google them or you could buy a cheap but quality hosting for a year from Namecheap for as low as 15-20$ for a year.

Step 2:

Connect your domain and hosting if they're on different sites. you'll find tutorials on how to connect your domain to hosting on youtube.

Step 3:

Install your theme, if you're using a free trial account you can use a nulled theme to practice or a free theme or paid themes offered for free on BHW. Go ahead and import the demo data. look for youtube videos on how to import demo data/ install Wordpress themes if you're a noob x1000

Step 4:

You'll most likely face errors a lot of them while you're on this journey to make a website. There's one secret to escape and fix any error that you may face.

Use this search query on google/youtube:

Wordpress + "Error name"

For examples:
Wordpress 503 error
Wordpress demo data import error
Wordpress Internal Server Error

You'll find tons of tutorials on the internet to solve each one of these errors.

In case you don't find one..Go ahead and create a support thread on wordpress.org and explain the error, someone from the development team will surely reply to you.

Step5:

Once, your website is set up... You need to learn SEO technicals. Since you are going to be the lone wolf that controls the website, you will have to learn every technical part that may be required when you deploy an actual website.

Technical SEO by that I mean, fix page speed, image compression, use tools such as Pingdom, Gt metric etc.

As long as you don't stop, you will go on exploring areas to learn.

This practice can take anywhere between a month to 6 six months. Take your time and learn every aspect of it.

Step 6:

GO GUNS BLAZING with your first ever website.

Now that you know how to set up one and control the SEO, all you need is to get started.

There's a lot of good people on the internet to help you, all you need to do is GET STARTED!

Let me know if you have any questions or if you face any problems, always here to help as much as possible.

After every other post of yours, you seem like another multi acc that tryna farm some rep on the run and scam someone.
OH! am I ruining your business by giving free Wordpress tutorials here?
Please be nice, I'm trying to contribute my part to the community we all are striving to create. =)

At least, try to be a bit more original and not share something that is widespread across the internet. There are literally hundreds of 1+ and 2+ hour-long tutorials on YouTube where you can see the guy basically spoonfeeding you how to set up a WordPress site from domain purchase, hosting setup, and actually building the site.

And I am talking literally any type of site, from blogs, affiliate sites, eCommerce stores, forums and membership type of sites.

Ripped apart so quickly :D

On a more serious note though you've done your bit but elementary tutorials like this is not what most bhw members want to see.

You guys are probably right. How do I delete this thread? Please provide tutorial haha

Half of me feels like: "Good work trying to contribute to helping others OP"
Half of me feels like: "OP you've got to actually give people some information that's useful"
The last half of me feels like: "Fun fact - the word "wordpress" doesn't have any anagrams"
