This was interesting and EXTREMELY CONCERNING.
I got a receipt for my domains.google renewal today in my Gmail account.
But guess where?
In the SPAM folder.
Now surely Google did not mark [email protected] as a SPAMMER in Gmail.
Meaning my legit domain, which is mentioned in the renewal receipt, is what triggered the SPAM filter.
WTF???

I've checked SemRush signals and then filter by the "News" category and it shows almost a 9/10 compared to other niches in the industry that are at (5-6/10).
Hopefully, this Cov-19 it's all gone from the search and lowering the "news" type of sites and placed them where they were before.
Maybe google on their attempt of becoming a reliable source of information specially for Cov-19 decided to prioritize authority domains.
Dear Google, you better give me my sh@t back.

Indeed. The traffic on one of my affected website is even lower than usual. It seems like the cut deepens, going from 40 to about 55%.
This whole Schema bullsh1t got me so confused. I see that all competitors that got higher than me have "Review by x" written in the SERP, while I get '1 Review'. Could this have an impact on why they rank higher despite having far lower metrics? The schema that I'm using is Product since that's the closest from the review plugin that I'm using. I'm thinking on changing it to Review, but do you think it will have any impact? Has any of you tried it?

I don’t think so. It will be too Easy.
Perhaps you're right, but I do get the feeling that Google may think I'm a store (expects multiple reviews, not just one) and doesn't understand that the article itself is a large dedicated review. ALL other competitors have 'Review by x' and it's concerning.

in my niche, it's various and seems it doesn't affect rankings
imo it's something offsite mostly. no backlink websites goes up, good backlinks websites goes down.

that's how it looks
I suspect only the big authority websites will gain from this move. Sites that have been around for a long time and have accumulated a tonne of backlinks will see ranking increases while the small guys will get destroyed.

what when a giant have d0foll0w guest posts? they will bring them down? I don't think so. As @ up said, it's not possible.
But as I said, I see that my fresh, no-backlink websites is going up (strong!), when my authority websites is falling down. I took every publicly-known factor and there are no onsite problems, speed problems, CTR/BounceRate problems and so on...
My authority websites (100% optimized, great backlink profile, no kw stuffing) are already outranked by FRESH websites, with only few links from websites like "coc h@ck".
This is dissaster.

you can say they are using PBNs. Guys, they probably doesn't know what is SEO and what is PBN. Every page has a keyword cannibalization. And they are not dancing! No, no no. Their websites are ranking 2 pages per one keyword, strongly at the top. I am confused.
