Ranking parasites after the google update?

I never tried to rank any kind of parasites, but I have a few questions about it
  • Does anything change after the May update?
  • Are parasites links classed as high authority links, even if they are spammed?
  • What's the best method to rank them, blasting or building few authority links as tier 1?
  • Are social signals needed, even with backlinks?

Parasites still working all right. Been uploading steadily for a few weeks now. Some index quick others take a little more time. Seem to rank pretty well. Most of mine seem to rank page 2-5. Just need to start link building soon.

Damn @Myst3ry nicely done! What's your approach to link building? I'm thinking a mix of PBNs and GSA and possibly some expired web 2.0 links. Most of my articles are ranking well just need to boost them up.

As I said, no links built here. Only good keywords and good content. I'm still learning some things.

Sorry I assumed you'd done other parasites with link building. Or has everything been without link building? My medium account has been suspended which is annoying as it was working quite well.

Everything is without a single link.
This was part of a project for testing the parasite game.

I made a mistake as I have published many articles there and I risk everything to be gone but it's just testing.

Are you monetizing the post with an affiliate link or is it used as a backlink?

Risk is the wrong word. Everything will be gone soon. Medium always does this as soon as you get some steady traffic and rankings. In my account there were 10 informational articles with no external links and no promotion whatsoever(all original and unique content), and only one promotional article with affiliate links. I got banned within a month after reaching the 1st positions on google for main keywords.

I'm not getting a lot of clicks but the conversion rate is fine. ~10%

I'm on page 1 since January. I hope that doesn't happen soon.

What's your on-page strategy? Keywords in H1/H2 body? How often do you use them? Thanks.
 
I have seen a bunch of shitty medium articles ranking on first page, even on top 5.

Im talking about trashy full copied 500 words content... been thinking about seriously giving it a try.
 
Just starting using Medium as parasite
it is indexed quite fast with twitter onl in few hours even these days. ranks in few hours on serp between page 2 and page 5.
Looks like you cannot published similar stories with the same account...
