It really seems so, to test, I made 3 posts of super cute animal at THE RIGHT US TIME with US IP.
SAME RESULT! Same 100 views.
Does that make sense?
- Motivational content -> 100 views
- Ultra clickbait -> 100 views
- Mega cute animal -> 100 views
- sixnine reaction -> 100 views
- funny content -> 100 views
- Reposted top content from IG (edited of course to make it unique) -> 100 views
I tried ALL approaches and TikTok algo gives me 100 views. It makes no sense, they should have way higher variance between views and all these niche subjects / topics.
I'm getting a dedicated private VPN IP (hopefully they won't get too pissed that it is still in VPN IP range) AND a fresh device with no SIM AND a US phone number. If that doesn't help, then... honestly it just doesn't seem worth it.

Hmm...quite an interesting little research. Great job! Going by the results you got from the test carried out, it's obvious that tiktok may have programmed their platform to behave in that manner. And if it's indeed so, then there's no point being there if one is not in the U.S. Would be nice if you could keep us posted.

My objection to this idea is that there are plenty of creators around the world (not in the US) that are popular in their respective countries, think Japan or Spain. Granted those countries are certainly either tier 1 or 2 but being in the US is certainly not an ultimatum. The US just offers the most potential for content (granted you don't speak Japanese) and it is why people want their videos to go to that traffic. I would bet that he did something with a VPN, IP, SIM that triggered something in the algorithm that limits his views.

Fair enough...I'll just go ahead and carry out my own research. But, what ways do you think would be best to get my post in front of U.S. traffic, or any country of choice for that matter? VPN, proxies etc.? Any ideas?
VPN + Fake location + new phone + no SIM card
Combine it all and make sure you never log into the TikTok account without having all those activities.
Then it works, only US content and a lot of views.
Make sure that there hasn't been TikTok installed on the phone before. if yes, do factory reset.

Why "fake location" TikTok app permissions do not ask for location.
If you want to target a certain audience, like people in LA, you need to set your phone's location to there.
BTW make sure that your phone's time zone setting matches the fake location time zone.
They might not ask for permission, but they somehow get your location. And you better try to avoid everything to get shadowbanned.
