I'm sure that many of the replies on this thread are Indians but I'm not sure why they are playing diplomatic here. Let me advice you that India is a vast country and we have variety of people here. We have states population here more than many European countries altogether. We are 4x than US population so imagine the size of the country. About 800 million+ people live under poverty (world standards not Indian standards) here and they can't even get better education leave apart an IM course worth $2k.

Still we have sizable population 500 Million people living a middle class life and out of these you might be able to sell them (will be tough sale though) any convincing course and not just plain dumb guru thing. They can buy it depending on the price but they will do a thorough research for weeks and weeks and decide whether to invest or not. I hope it helps.

The above amount is too much for an average teenager.

The above amount isn't too much for an earning adult but why will he spend that much on a course as he is earning more than that.

Any price is reasonable!!! From zero to zillions. A fighter jet sells for 100 mil USD that doesn't mean that a tooth brush will get sold at that price.

Yes, people of India can pay that much money. But the real question is, why should they?

It depends on your target market. If you target rich people and solve a problem or answer a question for them, then the price won't matter for them. There are many people in India who pay $400-$500 for a T-shirt, and there are many others who hardly make $200 a month. So, you should come up with a solid course with a specific market that assures people of a better life.
