[GUIDE] Find Out if Your Video is Ghosted

Ghosted Video = A video that's not ranking anywhere, meaning you'll never get any organic views at all.
Other possible terms = Deranked, Shadowban?, Deindexed

How to check?
(Non-related trending videos becomes suggested)
1. Open browser incognito and go to YouTube.
2. Check the left bar and go to Trending. (Take note of the videos you'll see there)
3. Get your video's link and open that on incognito. (I use Chrome, but it might work for others too)
4. While your video is playing, see on the right (Suggested videos) that those are videos from trending and not actually related for your target KWs and whatnot.
5. If it is then it's ghosted.

(Can't be seen in google search)
1. Get your video's link.
2. Go to google and paste that link on the google search bar. (Google's not the browser's)
3. If there's no results then it's ghosted.

Recently I've been encountering this exact problem on my newly uploaded videos. They get ghosted sometimes after half a day, after 1-2 days. I tried things like changing title, changing thumbnail, etc., even re-render and re-upload but neither worked.
Granted that my content are copyright-magnet (scenes compilation), but I did have some not so old videos that did well and still ranking with no signs of ghosting.

Bottom-line, if you got these videos then no more organic views for that video for eternity.

I've been doing some NSFW views, for which 90% of the traffic is from Youtube search. That lasts for 1, 2 days max then it dies off to 10~50 views/day. There is 0 suggested traffic.
But what you are saying kinda makes sense and I haven noticed it, but have not made the connection until now. I will test it out.

i'm in the same boat as you with my scene-compilation (near nsfw) content.
when it gets ghosted after 6hrs - 2days the only views I get comes from end screens, no more YT search, suggested, and browse.
which means no more organic traffic

I've only ever had a video ghosted immediately after uploading. Deleting and re-uploading always fixes for me.

Isn't it more simple to just copy the link of your video and go to www.google.com and paste it? If it shows, it's indexed, if it's not it's just de-indexed ?

the first one about non-related videos as suggested is just another way.

You may want to make sure safe search is not turned on. If you are logged into your google account and safe search is on, NSFW videos will get filtered out of your search. They are not ghosted necessarily. Once you turn off the safe search the NSFW videos will come back into the search results again.
