Corona Virus is going to keep clothing and natural fiber textiles alive and well an this is how and why. At the end I will put up a poll. Due to the recent events and stay at home orders globally companies have not stopped production of oil and natural gas. This combined with less air travel has reduced demands on crude causing an oil glut. You can confirm this by looking at your trusted news sources. So all is well for consumers who love to buy cheap gas and wear Polyester or Nylon.

Polyester is a polymer that is derived from crude oil, Nylon is also a material that is derived from oil in a high-pressure heated environment. So these items over time will drop in value and cost which is good if your making cheap jersey style fabrics or "trash bag" style clothing. In the coming weeks if not months you will see floods of poly-blends an polyester style clothing more than usual because companies will go with the cheapest option an since people are running out of places to store oil we will make them wear it.

I agree but those textiles were meant to stay alive anyways, if you go to any big brand store such as Zara or H&M it is rare to see natural materials, it is simply way cheaper for them to make a jacket in polyester than in cotton, therefore more revenue.

The trend and focus on implementing natural textiles is there, but it will take as much time to see fashion stores full of natural materials as it will for the streets of Paris to be full of electric cars.

The gaiters made of “neck fleece” made out of a polyester spandex material. Reports showing neck gators and some synthetic fibres are not stoping the spread. An yes you would have to buy land and plant cotton or sheep for wool. Another bottle neck is the supply chain from other countries while they may have in house disasters and food shortages they may not produce these medical items. So manufacturing of these items should be shifted to domestic production. American cotton, American refining, American Production this is ultimately the best way to maintain a stained supply chain by shifting to domestic production.

Well, Yes and NO. If you think fast you may say that yes, the textile are used for masks and it will grow the consume for masks and more textile needed. BUT... along with the COVID also came the recession worldwide so, the power of buying dropped significantly and people are buying less textiles (clothing, home appliances etc) so it might lower the consume in the long run
