In all honesty, the big players I know have made more money during covid than they've ever made in a 6 month period. Some new comers started to make decent income through local solutions, like fresh food, vegetable deliveries in local neighborhoods and such. You probably came across their ads whatever country you're from.Everyone is taking a hit from this shutdown. I don't know why you're so surprised
Customer support and clarity so far will do you good. From what I know the big players switched mainly to express shipping to avoid refunds and all the trouble that comes along with it. Turns out they're making a big bank with it. You might want to look more into it.Did you figure out something to help with the refund?
Everyone is not hurting, when it comes to finances. We sent out some messages yesterday which kind of implied we are hurting financially like everyone else.

I'd say for everyone reading this and struggling with logistics :Being adaptable would be the main strategy I guess. When things are going well, it's easy to get stuck in our ways and think that good times will always go on. But when times go bad, we need to think fast and move faster. Seeing big businesses, and established brands, selling different products, leaning more on delivery and mobile solutions (when they otherwise would be location-dependent and face to face), is actually very interesting.
This whole pandemic wiped out all the short term businesses aka dropshipping business. If you are into the long term game you will succeed mate
Go for an affiliate offer for the same product and stop worrying about shipping/customer support.
I have sites that look like ecommerce stores, but the "buy now"-button redirects to the affiliate offer (lol).I was considering the same thing. But, if the website is already laid out like an e-com site, how to reconfigure it as an affiliate? It would mean making blog posts instead of product listings.

If you normally have free shipping or $4.99 shipping, you now have $19.97 (or a similar price) for DHL express shipping.DHL shipping? Will that still take a while to reach the customer though? What about profit margin?
Tonnes of good advice here.I'd say for everyone reading this and struggling with logistics :
1) Try suppliers that offer faster shipping (2weeks or less; around there) : CJdropshipping They can ship from the US in 5 days or so. Or ship to the US in 2 weeks or so.
Spocket.co : They have suppliers in EU and US. Definitely worth checking.
2) Move to mainly express shipping with DHL for example. You'll get lower sales but for higher margins, and faster shipping and better customer satisfaction.
I invite people reading this in this tough time of covid to really think about this option. And I leave the thought with you for considertion.
Move to Express and 2 week shipping.
