The whole of 2020 is more than bad. Keywords are literally my last concern lol
As for an answer: No, nothing came back to normal - i expected nothing to come back - I've done changes(Suggest you do the same)

Some experts suggested that I wait for the core update to be fully deployed before making changes. I do n’t know whether to adjust accordingly now?

Sorry Robin, I've done the adjustments only 3 days after the update so i wouldn't have to do 100% of the work. Now, I am just modifying what went wrong.
As for keywords, 3 out of 4 started bringing the traffic.

For some reason, I don't see any fluctuation in my sites. I mean just regular up-downs, nothing like an update. Little worried though.

So don't hold me to this, but I did the following to one of my pages that dropped a spot for a major keyword. (from position 2 to position 3)
I always split-test exact match density, phrase match density, and LSI usage across my pages, and for this particular page, I ended up boosting up the exact match instances, and force indexed the page. An hour later, the page regained the #2 position and has stayed there ever since. It's been over a week now at #2.
