Google releasing a large update today

The transmission of link juice and classification are 2 different things. I assure you that the bounce rate is taken very seriously, you can even find the equivalent of vagex for serps (I do not remember the name) in order to influence the rankings.
Obviously it takes a lot of real IP for this to work.
A link from PBN has zero visits, no bounce rate, and no time on page and yet it counts. Magic.
Look at google snippets, it tells you how much they care about getting the right info ASAP to a user without even visiting a website. If bounce did count, they'd say 'visit this website for more info and click around ... to find out more'
It makes no sense.

If Google uses the bounce rate as a ranking factor how can Google find this out, if a website does not use Google analytics?
Well we are talking about search engine optimization here so its obvious we are talking about google.com / or any other google.language

So you are using Googles product (The search engine), ofcours they have insight in every website that is listed in the SERP. Analytics is only a tool for you as a webmaster to be presented by some of the numbers.

Google have all insights on website using their search engine...

So if a customer search for something in Google.com , go to your website, do some action (or in this case just leave) obviously Google knows about this. Thats all of their recent updates been targeted like rankbrain and now all these different names

Lol, you should read my answer above, because it answers both of u guys, it depends on what search query you rank on.

And if they leave how does it hurt my website in terms of bounce rate? Let's say I'm selling shoes. One of my categories is 'red high heel shoes' and if after visiting the 'red high heel shoes' page/post they leave without browsing the blue or yellow shoe section, tell me how does it hurt my website? They did not visit the other sections because they were not interested in them, they didn't buy it or click 'add to cart' because they don't have the money or are not ready to buy or whatever ...
Please tell me how does it hurt the ranking of my website?

The problem in the 'SEO thing' is that some people will come up with all kind shit and metrics that don't count just to be different. If you look who is replying to my comments you'll see that he is selling his shit indexing service. His replies are just to get some free visibility.

From the moment the visitor come from Google search and returns back, this is enough to have a duration. If the visitor comes from a site that uses analytics, and the visitor goes back or returns to Google this is also sufficient.
It really should not be underestimated it would be a big mistake.
I think they can even know if a page is loaded and you are viewing another tab ... There are whole teams in Mountain view who are paid to think only about it so if we think about it they surely already done.

Regarding the link juice of a PBN it is very different. You have to think of authority and semantic power, you cannot classify them in the same way. This will be done even without a visit if they are indexed. They send trust. If the site that receives PBN links at a high bounce rate, it will go down for sure. It is sort of the ultimate test. The algorithm may be wrong but not the bounce rate.

If the user gets the answer to his question, he will stop looking. If he spends more time with your competitor, it means that he responds better to the request (and therefore he will be ranked higher).

And I will avoid continuing to teach you seeing how you finished your last post about me. If you think you are making yourself smart, you are on the wrong track.

You're just spamming this forum, probably noticed that most indexing services don't work anymore and trying to sell your shit indexing service with a link on your profile. Look at your stats, dead and all of the sudden active with a useless bounce theory. I hope that no one falls for this trap.

Please stop your off topic, we are talking about the Google update. If you are pretending to be an idiot this is your problem and those who will read next will surely realize that you are trying to avoid it.

So let's get back on topic and enlighten me what the latest google update is all about besides the useless 'bounce theory'

Yet this is very precisely what has happened since the update ...

Just hit my highest page views in 7 months, but, Ahrefs & Serpbook all show big drops... not sure what's going on.

I believe this core update is related to contents quality, and this do not means having a +5000 words articles of quality content, but having useful contents made for people and not for SEO..
Now, doing a simple logic reasoning, a bot would look mostly at the bounce rate and visits percentage over time, so my best tip here, is to do something like a 'content sculpturing' - shortly look at google analytics stats (12 months till today) and: remove, or improve, or (in case of backlinks) 301 redirect such existing contents having both high bounce rate and low visits (this is not something new and should have a good impact over time for those sites affected by this kind of update).

Ahrefs estimates traffic, not accurate, just an estimate over time, serpbook may lag behind, stick to what you see in google analytics. Did you make any changes in the past few days to your website:?

Nah, no changes. It's been trending up since a massive loss in November. The last week has seen a big increase.

Serpbook is updated every 2 hours and shows roughly 30% drop of tracked keywords out of the top 3.

I can only guess that long tails are up across the board.

On track to hit 10k page views today, up from 4k in February.

Jesus! I got hit badly by COVID because I have mainly tourism websites. Then we got that Amazon commission cut. And now another wonderful Google update. What a month!

At least I was happpy to see in websmater tools a few days ago one of my 2 main websites receiving very nice natural backlinks from an university and a TV channel.
Well I put back the Champagne in the fridge quickly, it went down with the update. Fucking whitehat BS. No more financial loss because COVID already took everything but the come back I expected will be harder. PBN still work if you don't force on anchors. The pages receving those backlinks stay quite stable. And authority websites can do whatever they want on their page and receive no backlink, they will rank high whatever their content. It is boring ; good editorial content doesn't protect you from a good crash. I see many good blog articles, who don't do much SEO, leaving the first page to be replaced by poorly made authority ecommerce pages.
Since updates after Penguin, I don't really see quality improvements in SERPS, almost the opposite. They introduced those stupid sponsored links because the bot is still unable to recognize paid links, PBNs and other things.

More than ever : diversify, diversify, diversify. And it is good to take various SEO roads on various websites to limit the variance. I will keep pretty clean on some (although I will pay for a few quality links) and go dirtier on others.

may i suggest to put the bottle down while you are posting on BHW.

This update has hit my automotive websites real hard. I can see trash sites ranking higher than mine. Hopefully, as they say 2weeks it will stabilize
