Sometimes we here success stories of people making $10000 per month or more on Fiverr. But these are downsides to it like the account can get banned any time. Is it thus possible to make a living with fiverr ?

Well their fiverr pro services top sellers charge easily over $500 for their gigs.

"Enough to make a living" depends completely on where you're living and what kind of lifestyle you're looking to lead. Some people live on $50/month and some people spend that on coffee in a week.

Yes its possilbe . talking from personal experience ( i am averaging $25000/year for 7 years now , which in Greece where i live are more than enough), but you will have to have a special skill or idea that will make you somehow better than the competition

How many active gigs you have ?
I can't vouch personally for how feasible it is but I've been eyeballing Fiverr as a way to get writing gigs so I've done a fair bit of research and I can't see how it wouldn't be possible.
As an example, my main source of gigs right now is iWriter. On there I get an average of $20 per 1500 words. It's not great but it's what I got for the time being and it's paying the bills.
While trawling through Fiverr sellers, I found many of the more successful sellers in this area were selling 1000 words for between $50-100, and the gigs weren't for anything special. No technical papers or heavy research—just regular writing jobs.
I haven't taken the plunge yet but it's looking likely.

I guess it is possible. I read a comment from a guy here on BHW a while ago and he stated he earns or earned close to $1000/day.
