Is it still advisable to start a drop shipping business during the pandemic? I heard people say it covid-19 has affected this business.
Is this true?

Thanks for the answer, this means we have to wait to see how things turn outYes, as most items are shipped from China. There is a massive backlog as while come countries were in lockdown only 'essential' post was being delivered.
Plus, as most countries are coming out of lockdown now, there is a massive surge, casuing more delays. However, if you tell your customers there might be a delay I'm sure all will be ok as they'll understand the issue with Covid-19.
This is really sadIf you're in the US, then yes, because as mentioned most dropshipping wholesale items come from China. Yes, China has slowed down and/or halted major of their exports.
On top of that, if you're considering wholesale arbitrage on Amazon, they've reduced their intake of incoming products, especially new products. With their current traffic, they can't keep up with all of their sales. So, they're still prioritizing "essential" items.
All that being said, there are US based wholesale websites.
at the moment the air shipping rate is too high. if the item is made in China, you better get the cargo shipping by sea (takes 1 month), keep them in your house or a small warehouse, then you can make drop shipping business in the US.Is it still advisable to start a drop shipping business during the pandemic?
