Rank on Google 1st Page within a month without strong backlinks

How isit possible for a website to rank on Google 1st Page of SERP for competitive keywords in less than a month?

Anyone can help to analyse the website?
-They have no strong backlinks (only 200+, low DA of backlinks too)
-Only 1 targeted country get to access the domain, they blocked all other countries from assessing the site (wonder if this related?)
-Most of the tools cannot be used on them due to 403 error (eg. Pagespeed Insight)
-The only thing i found advantage is they can load the site faster
-HTML are minified (is this related?)
-All 5 companies ranked to 1st page in less than a month, from zero to 1st Page.


Any other possible field to audit the sites?

Hi Misan. Keywords is specific to that country but alot of company compete on it. The domain has no redirect from any domain at all.

I'll save you the headache, SEO takes time. If you're not patient enough to wait for months without seeing results you're better off going into something like paid traffic.

As far as your analysis is concerned:
  • They might be hiding their backlinks, using PBNs, there are a lot of things involved here.
  • If they're blocking tools then they're probably blocking some third party bots from crawling their site. (could be one of the reasons you're unable to see backlinks)
  • Site speed is a ranking factor.
  • Again, HTML/CSS/JS are minimized to decrease page size and hence improve the site's speed.
  • You say all 5 sites ranked for the keyword in less than a month, how did you gauge this? Did you monitor the SERPs for a long time personally or are you using a third-party tool? Also, were these rankings acquired after a Google update?

maybe due to high-quality content and a huge one.
if not then there should be something blackhat.

Hello there!
  • I am using ahrefs to check their backlinks and it shows around few hundreds of backlinks (200+), not sure if they can hide partially from the system?
  • Check from the backlinks there are some PBN but not much and not strong domain they are.
  • Site speed is a ranking factor but i am thinking if it really matter so much that can rank straight away on google?
  • Yes I personally monitor the SERP continuously and suddenly the 5 companies i have never seen before appeared on top 1st page that it caught my attention.
  • These ranking happened in Mid of April. I guess there is no major update from Google?

Content is nothing much different from others. Dont find it really extraordinary quality or outstanding. Thinking about maybe involved blackhat too so checking if anyone here come across the same experience. Thanks for your reply!

but i do checked their backlinks and see what pbn they are doing, i found some PBN but not much using Ahrefs. Is that possible that they hide part of PBN?
 
Like everyone already told you, there are many factors here. But I am quite good at Off-Page SEO myself and I can tell that PBNs, Backlinks from websites with real traffic (That are hidden by the respective website) work their magic. Of course, no tool will be able to discover everything for you so I wouldn't put my trust in them so much.
And hella yes, website speed is a factor that Google loves.
 
Killed me with that misleading title. Ppl love to help when being asked but your title will prolly only bring in ppl trying to learn....
