Looking for a nice and cheap domain to purchase.

Was planning to buy a IO/CO domain but they all are expensive than COMs. Do you know the reason for them to be expensive?

Reading many good things about Name Cheap. Is that what is the best at the moment to purchase a domain?

Is there anyone who can recommend me GoDaddy?

I've switched all of my domains from GoDaddy to NameCheap because it's much more affordable, considering the private registration and everything.

Typically .CO domains should be cheaper than .COM domains. At least on NameCheap that's the case.

Namecheap is great. I have not used godaddy after privacy scandal some years ago

All the domain companies you mentioned here are reliable. Buy a .com it build more trust.

I think private registration is free from namcheap. I am still using godadd. But who knows someday will find some advices and move to another more affordable place.

you could look at porkbun.com. a few months back i switched all my domains from godaddy to porkbun. they are cheaper and friendlier.

That's just how registrars play with prices.

Another mention for Porkbun, moved most of mine there. Gandi is also great, if you need some cheap hosted email (2x 3 GB mailboxes included in registration).

Regarding pricing, simple economics, supply and demand. Say if .com or another generic is sold out and .co or .io are the best alternatives, they can charge whatever they want. These are also ccTLDs, so they can use it as a source of income in some cases for the registry, or limit who's going into their market by limiting who can purchase.

At $8.56 for dot coms, Porkbun is not much more. They also have a much more extensive list of supported TLDs and ccTLDs. And they have "cuter" branding fwiw. Also I prefer keeping my hosting/CDN separately silo'd from domain registrar. Thanks for the tip though.

For me EasyDNS and epik.com is my choice, EasyDNS good support, good DNS servers, good privacy. Whois Privacy is paid. But if you want it for free give a try on Epik.com

But if you don't care to pay a little more, go with EasyDNS. In last case, you can go with Uniregistry.

For Security reasons I should suggest EasyDNS and Uniregistry
