Niche blog vs generic blog?

Does a generic blog ranks fine? I have a blog like mynameblog.com

And i post about various niches and keywords.

Would there be a problem in ranking them?

Considering 'taboola' doesn't really mean anything, I think you should be ok in principle. I think it's quite incorrect when people say you need a partial keyword/niche match in domain.

You should stay away from a generic blog unless you have hundreds to spend on a expired domain with good backlinks and probably thousands on SEO.
