Niche blog vs generic blog?

Be focused in my opinion, such blogs are in trend these days.

Stay with a nice and sweet niche. Keep posting generally about 2-3 posts per week. After few months, start creating backlinks. It should do.

If your aim is just writing and not earning then a generic blog would be just fine. However niche specific blog is always a good idea when you want to earn money through it as it will be very difficult to define readership through a generic blog which would then generate less traffic.
