NEVER use hostwinds, they are terrible

Tons of downtime, bad security and support. I finally cancelled all my services and now they are charging my card small amounts every week and I have to call my bank to block the scumbags. Stay far away from hostwinds, scummy company.

Yeah I moved on when they moved to a new server and wanted to charge like $15 or more , forgot... But not even because of the price, I have posted about it before.
Literally I had a BF promo applied, used Paypal subscription.. You'd think it is all good... But then every couple of months the code would drop. As I used Paypal subscription now the payment was too low...Every time I contacted them they said oh it is fixed now will not happen again.
Heard that like 4 -5 times...

Then the performance sucked when looking in Cpanel it was always orange or red...

Agreed we should just give Hostwinds their own sub-forum dedicated to complaints against them at this point.. shit is getting old now, how does one company consistently have so much negative feedback that all sounds similar and still not fix the issues.. amazing.

Well, Hostgator, Godaddy.... but yeah Hostwinds sucks and not sure how they still survive as they have no brand recognition on that level.

I would imagine there has to be a certain level of quality maintained to be a partner? I seem to remember reading something to that effect about vetting etc. Given the amount of complaints made here regularly and always with the same issues - taking payments when they shouldn’t, terrible down time and bad support, perhaps BHW could look into this? A re-vetting, a little secret shopping or re-review of their services? Clearly somethings not right..

The owner doesn’t even have an active thread here anymore nor does he have the advertiser, enterprise member or jr vip tag, yet he is a partner? No guesses why he hasn’t got a live thread anymore really.. it’d be a shit storm of bad press, although I’ve seen what he does - he will run a big sale like Black Friday or similar, open a new thread here for it, promote it heavily for a couple weeks then close it, usually he’ll plaster banners all over BHW during this phase. I guess he tops up on enough new suckers for a while.

There is no way for you to be billed for a service that is not active.

I opened a ticket explaining the problem with the charges and I just got an automated response. Gonna have to have my bank block their charges. This is so ridiculous, seriously stay far away from this company.

Can you please refer me any good hosting, because in 4 days mine will expire and I don't want to transfer to Hostwinds but somewhere else and I'm not sure where should I!!

I've been using StableHost for YEARS and I'm still very happy with their service and support.

I moved from Hostwinds too - they were literally denying their downtimes lol

I PMed them, no response yet after a few days. Stay away from this service, they don't respect their customers.

I got a response but I doubt the charges will stop. I will update if they keep happening and call my bank to block them.
