[help Needed] Google Translate + Human Review any good?

Hello Guys,
I just joined the forum today and this is my first post. I have been reading a lot on the forum for the past month or so, and after being inspired by a few journeys I have started my own.
This is not my journey thread but a question I needed to ask from the members of the forum.
I have started building an amazon affiliate site and my question is Can I reupload my competitors material by using google translation?
What I have seen is that when I translate the content from English to German and then back to English it actually produces 100% unique content and is also quite readable except a few errors which can be resolved by human reviews.
Will using the technique have a negative effect on SEO?
Does the content thus created is good to go?
Please Help.

For english I do not recommend it - sometimes Google might catch that the article is rewritten from somewhere else. For other languages this strategy is working more than fine right now.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Is there something else you recommend? My competitor uploads 10k words articles which is very trying to manually spin. i have also used wordai but it gave shitty results.

If you are posting the content in English then a little tweaking will always be required, change a few words here and there, use Thesaurus for different and unique wording, add something relevant so that it is not detected by google as copied content. Also always review the content translated by google. There are a lot of corrections to make. My experience up til now with google translate has not been really good.

What your competitor does really does not matter. There are tactics and people who get away with spun content, but it's tricky and if you don't know what you're doing, you'll always risk a penalty. Also as @MisterF said earlier, with spunned low quality content who is going to buy from your affiliate links?

Right now what is working great:

1. Get an english article. The best scenario is to assemble the article from multiple sources.
2. Spin the article via some automatic software, for example WordAI.
3. Translate the article in the desired language with an app, for example DeepL is doing more than fine. Bing is also ok. Do not translate via Google Translate.
4. Submit the article to editor to correct the mistakes.

It will work more than fine, let's see what are the costs:

• Get an article - free, do it by yourself, it will be up to 5 minutes of work if you collect from 3-4 sources.
• Software for spinning, like 40-50 USD per month.
• Translation - free.
• Editorial review - depending on the language of the translation but it will be more than 5 times cheaper. So for example if the average price for writing an article in the specified language is $20 per 500 words, this should cost you no more than $5.

Like this, you will have articles of great quality for something like $1-2 per 100 words which is nothing.

What I tried in the past to get the Non-English content, translate it into English, and post on my website. It was doing good and worked fine for me. Later my site got the penalty and dropped to nowhere else. I was not sure what's the actual reason. So what I did to change the entire content to the original one. Wait like 1-2 months and site back to the SERP again with the desired keywords. So translated content might work fine for now. But if you are aiming for any long term project, you have to be cautious.
