Hi guys,
im promoting some of my software through a well established forum, where i own a very expensive and trustful account. Sadly my thread's ranking was reset due to a change in my Threadlink... I wonder if the backlink techniques also work for a single Topic within a forum? How would you guys rank that single post?

Thank you for any advice :)

All backlink techniques universally work the same for URL's in my opinion. Just make sure the forum thread is filled with actual content and responses and that the title contains the keywords you're looking to rank for.

Another tip would be to link to your forum thread from other forums where the same topic is being discussed.
There was a guy here at BHW who made a case study where he was able to rank some inner pages of his site using just forum backlinks.

Obviously this wasn't in the most competitive niche, but it just goes to show that it's a legit backlinking strategy for some sites/URL's.
It helps Google see the context so to speak.

I would probably try something like that, depending on how much money you think this post will end up making you in the long run.
Not sure I would thrown PBN links at a forum thread.

I see, thanks for your input. Im currently having a revenue of ~150-200€ per month, but its to be expected that it rises if im ranked again. So im not having that big of a budget anyways :-P

You think Social Media would be a good measure as well?

I'm sure social media could work, but I wouldn't spend too much time on it.

Focus on building organic links through forums, Reddit comments and by linking to the thread from your own web 2.0 properties. That should do it, given the niche isn't really too competitive.

If you want more link juice - look to maybe buy a link or two here on the forums. You seem to have the budget for it. Just start :)

I already tried reddit, but all links are no follow, or am i missing something here? Sames goes for other forums... I was thinking about just duplicating my thread to multiple forums, but then im afraid i get punished by google, and id also loose the reputation i got from the current forum...

My thread in hire a freelancer only got 1 reply from a guy wanting 20$ for a single backlink from his Gaming PBN, im not so sure if that worth it tbh...

Dude, when you're trying to rank in niches that aren't that competitive - don't care about nofollow backlinks.

Trust me, they will help to. There's numerous case study's top prove this :)
