Are there any Quora bots available?

I've dug and dug and dug, and I cannot find any type of Quora bot online. I'm not looking for one that has blackhat nature to it (auto-voting / auto-questions / etc), either, but one that simply notifies me if there is a question asked based on a keyword(s) I want to "watch".

Example:

• Input: "web crawling"

1. Output: notify me of new questions found here every ~1 hour so that I can answer them before anyone else

Being the first to answer could potentially lead to significantly higher returns on your Quora marketing efforts, so I am surprised that no tool exists that does exactly this.

The two tools that sort of do this (once per day) are:

• https://mention.com/

However both of them fail at it because:

1. Only receive results once per day (I want more immediate notifications)
2. They do not provide the full list as found in my example link above. I was able to easily find more questions with my keywords when doing it manually than either of these tools were returning.

So - all that being said... what gives?! I've found relatively decent success with Quora marketing when done at scale with outsourced freelancers, but I haven't done it in the past year. When I was about to start up again, I noticed the lack of such tool being available and so here I am. If nothing is available, I'll just have our team build one for myself (but was hoping to more easily use one that is available).

Why not just use a tool that frequently checks a web page for changes. I know it wouldn’t be perfect but you would at least know when there’s something new posted on the page.

Hopefully someone is yet to come in here and suggest a tool that exists already, but from my rabbit hole of a weekend of digging, I'm still left with nothing (which begs the question: why? Maybe Quora marketing doesn't work as well as it used to, as one potential reason).

I built an in-house bot that does this. It loops through the search results pages for whatever keywords you feed it with a 15 minute delay and stores new questions, their URLs, the keyword used to find the question, and the date/time the question was found (screenshot of results grid attached). Only problem is it's desktop based so you need to keep it running on your machine or a VPS to continually get fresh results (windows only).

I didn't realize there was a demand for it, but if there's interest I can build out the UI and clean up some bugs after I release an update to one of my other bots, then throw up a beta-tester thread for those interested to get some feedback on it and flesh it out some. Would take about a week or so to create an actual interface as I need to wrap up a few projects (hopefully can have it done quicker).

Screenshot of results grid below running for the keyword "programming" in the past hour - it's nothing special to look at at the moment.

I could add some extra reporting features (I just glance at it occasionally when it's running for new opportunities) to have it email new results - or have it push alerts to your phone/desktop with something like pushover.net (they offer a one time purchase for $5, then you can get 7500 alerts per month at no extra cost - I'm not associated with them or anything, just use their service fairly often).

Sorry, is this the same with Quora Digest? Or is it?

Quora Digest is a curated list of questions they think you'd like to see based on your preferences and browsing history (questions are selected programmatically and by hand, I believe).

This means the digest is not well-suited when you're looking for more specific questions to answer.

Additionally, the digest is only sent once a day, so its not good for being first to get in and answer a question quickly.

Wish you had spoken sooner! I went ahead and created the bot as well in the meantime to satisfy my needs. The results on Quora are staggeringly impressive with low effort. Here's a screenshot of me writing only 12 ~75 word answers: Google analytics I'll see how long the steady traffic holds up, but even 1 visitor/day is very optimistic for one-time efforts.

Next steps are for me to hire someone on Upwork to do the answering at scale to see how well it will scale... will report back in a week or so with results for those you are interested.

I don't see why you couldn't, but when you want accuracy and speed a dedicated bot will pretty much always win. Even a few minutes delay can mean the difference between being the first to answer or not, and the alerts really aren't too accurate (search "Google Alerts missing" and you'll find all kinds of complaints/articles/etc. about it), which means you might be missing some easy targets. So, sure, you can go that route, but if alerts were super reliable then other monitoring services wouldn't really need to exist.
