Is this an SEO attack ???

Hi guys, I have a really big problem and I'd like to know if I've been attacked in any way.
last week I noticed in my GSC that hundreds pages of my shop have been deindexed, I also noticed that the canonical url that google chooses is completely different from what I put. in addition the canonical url pointed to another domain.
after investigation, i noticed that each time i publish a page on my shop it was instantly copied by the other domain and since it is old google was indexing its own pages.

Is this an attack ? or my problem is something else.
as a reminder I bought my (new) domain from shopify.

He is scraping your content and uploading it on his own site than he indexes it. Google indexes the page on his site and sometime later it also crawls yours, but this time it won't index your page because it is duplicate content and this may result in a sitewide penalty. You can stop him from copying your site and eventually get your rank back but it won't be cheap.

Welcome, to 302 Redirect hijack which came again. And for sure tons of backlinks reported from that domain to yours right? Plus he is indexing with all of your titles, meta-descriptions and all of that.

• Make sure none can point a domain directly to your webserver/website IP.
• Block all the bots and allow only google search console in robots.txt
• Send DMCA notice to his hosting provider.

You may need some further professional help if nothing of the basic things helps

To counter such an attack you have a few options:
- If it's a "live" attack, which mean that the content is scraped live, you just need to catch the IP server of that website and redirect it to something else.
- If it's an "old attack", content is scraped then published on the website, you could try DMCA.


unfortunatelly, this type of negative SEO is very common and hard to battle, since Google is actually ignoring it.

DMCA is going to be your best way to fix this. So the key is to prove it's your content.

Edit your shopify html so put in the middle something like "If you see this paragraph, it means that I stole this content from xyz.com". When that ends up on their page, it's very easy to DMCA the site.

Just try to make it blend in the best you can so even if it's look at by hand it's not as obvious.

If the words appearing right on the page doesn't work, try putting it in a html comment so it's not visibly obvious but viewing source it is there.

i conatct the hosting company and no anwsers, but something is weird, i tried to by a product from the other site and i got the money in my shopify dashboard !
really understand nothing !!!

I had something very similar happen to me. Someone cloned the entire site - different URL. Here's what I did.

• Contacted Digital Ocean with a DMCA - their response was pretty lacking borderline nothing.
• Looked for their IP but it was difficult due to high volume of traffic.
• Blocked all Robots but GoogleBot. Nothing.

So, what I did, change the structure of the site. Rename CSS/JS files etc. His robot broke crawling, change the IP or ask your host to move your VPS to a new IP. People who do this sort of attack are extremely lazy, they can't be bothered changing their crawlers.

I contacted the site that manages the domain name and turns out not to be the host of the attacking site, I traced its IP address which is located in singapor at amazon's.
after contact amazon admits that the ip address is hosted by them and runs on EC2 AWS.

What kind of page is there if you go to it now? Is it a 404 or does it just 301 somewhere else?

Is it possible to use an indexer so the googlebot goes to his and they're not there, and then give it a couple of days and index yours? I'm not sure what effect it would have but if nothing else it's just a matter of time.
