Why Media Buying is not very popular here at BHW?

Some people like to paint, others building planes, same with CPA-CPM - it's a matter of choice.

I work with ads/traffic and used to think that CPM/CPC is easier than CPA. Now after working with CPA for a few years, I would still say the same.
I wouldn't say that pop-ads is a serious approach (not saying it's not working, I believe it does to some extent), you can't compare it with conversion rate of targeted campaigns. However targeted campaigns would require way higher budgets, that on my experience in the range of $1k to $5k per day - I wouldn't say it's cheaper or better in revenue than CPM.

No matter what you focus on, the process of media buying is not very different between CPA & CPC/CPM.

regardless of whether its a serious approach or not, from whom would you recommend to acquire pop-ads, im talking about truly
blackhat pop-ups whether its browser extension pop ups and or "russian" pop-ups ?

I wouldn't chose pop-ads, worst-case scenario - push ads, but not pop.

I wouldn’t recommend super intrusive ads.
One ad can affect revenue of another.

I am buying media for the past 10 years, there are all sorts of media buys, but all of them involve a part most people here don't like or cant afford, and it is the BUYING.

Also, people that do buy media, spend their hard earned cash on it, therefore they are more silent about it than the ones trying methods that can make something out of nothing.

Just know that we are here. and media buying should obviously be a part of any long term venture. Why?

Even if there are cheaper ways to get traffic than paid traffic in a given moment, its mostly some long term work (SEO, PBN's, Social Manual Growth) or a full time job hustle (the occasional make money with spam and low level content) than trying to replicate your methods is almost impossible. you either have a GEM in form of strong aged PBN or top ranked money site, which, both you can't replicate, or make it grow further without now investing in paid traffic.

Also using your knowledge to replicate that working method, it will still most likely put you in square one (no rank, no traffic, no winning product yet)

While when you control who sees your ads you can expand on what is working more easily. and the pool is HUGE.

or in the case its a full time job hustle, well, if it was that good, it wasn't such a hustle, so basically you need to hire people to get more work done, most methods wont come to that in their life span.

don't get me wrong some methods can be scaled, but media buying is meant for this, and is worthless without scaling, you just need to have deep pockets to get there.

I've been doing media buy for the last 3 years. Mostly pop traffic, but also some push, some native, and some Facebook. I've managed 7 figures of ad spend.

Finding winning campaigns can be expensive and time consuming.

You better get ready to lose 20-30k$ to get started (I disagree with guys who said you need 1-2k$ to start).

You don't need to strictly have that amount sitting in the bank upfront because you will spend progressively, but if you plan to test the waters with less than that and stop if you don't succeed, you will most likely run out of money before you find anything promising :p

And it's not so easy to think "I'll just spend 100$/day over a month, so I just need 3k$ for month 1". Because you will get into situations that look promising and you will want to increase your ad spend testing rapidly other traffic sources that might yield a better ROI or volume, etc., just to realize that suddenly you spent 500$ in a couple days without success. Media buy is about being able to scale FAST and HARD something that works. So you need to be disciplined with the budget but also you need to be open to aggressively bump the spend for potentially nothing.

In my beginnings, I burnt 15,000$ over 6 weeks or so. Then when there was 1k$ left in the budget, some campaign started showing promising results and I was able to scale it to 500-1000$/day.

ROI of that first campaign was 100%, but you are constantly reinvesting a lot of it into finding new winning combinations in new geos and traffic sources, VAs, etc. And it's very hands on.

On top of that, tools are expensive. You will need a good cloaker, and the good commercial ones start at 300$+/month. If you plan on cracking some of the "premium" traffic sources get ready to play cat and mouse games with multiaccounting and multi VPS setups, depending on the vertical and how aggressive your marketing is. Tracking platforms and tools that can help you optimizing campaigns programmatically are pricey, etc.

BHW seems great for learning a bunch of different things, mostly related to ranking stuff, which is what almost everyone who gets interested on making money online will try first, due to being much less demanding on the budget side. In general media buyers hang out in other forums.

Because that's the only way people are earning real money :D

All the posts so far indicates that Media Buying will require a lot of time, efforts and tons of money spent on learning. At the same time if mastered, should be one of the most profitable businesses. The play needs to be long term and with massive dedication.

I'm up for it.
