In the UK you have to add credit before a number is registered.

Unless anybody knows of any where no credit is needed?

Same. Hoping to find a simcard where you just stick it in the phone (no top up required), and receive texts. Used to be able to do it with most companies, but not anymore afaik.

lycamobile do £5, which is better than most (£10), although not sure how often you need to keep topping up to keep the sim alive.

I looked around for this a few months ago, in the end I bulk bought some SIMs from ebay and a cheap mobile. I now just mark each sim with the site/vps/service and I am good to go for future verification. Worked well so far.

It is a bit old school, but works.

Can you tell me who you got them from or at least what to look for? im a bit clueless with it. Spent an hour looking and all i see are plenty od cheap sims that need prepaid plans at around 20 bux and only last a year at most before expiring. i have a ting phone which i think is on sprint or tmobile if that makes a difference. thanks a lot
