aged domain or new domain?

So i have started seo after 5 years and out of touch with the SEO world

so i have started working on a long term project , and wondering what is better

new domain
aged domain
aged domain with some backlinks

Obviously new domain costs $10 and aged domains with some links might cost $200+

so just wondering if buying aged domain would be a better choice

Old domain aged with Backlinks instant seo boost in some cases, some even say google doesn’t like dropped domains and considers them as new.

new domain make it your brand name, built it exactly as how you want it takes quiet a while before it gives results

An aged domain with some valid and live do follow links should be preferred. It should not be very difficult to lay your hands on a domain pending deletion which has some niche related keyword value, age value and backlinks value. All put together you may have to budget USD 30 for finding and buying such a domain. Yes not only this money, try and devote a couple of hours for this too.

There’s tremendous SE crawlers attention that domain would attract and considering if your work on that site is X, you will be able to rank you site much earlier if the site is placed on an expired and aged domain rather than when the same is done with a site on deleted or new domain all together.

I am considering buying one $500 domain from godaddy auctions, my only concern is, just in case the project fails or if i lose interest in pursuing it, where can i easily resell that domain for atleast 80% of purchase value? Obvious answer would be on godaddy auctions itself, but i have never tried selling on godaddy auctions, so not sure how it works, have you tried selling on godaddy auctions?

You can put it back on Godaddy again, but I wouldn't count with 80% whatsoever. By using it for a SEO project, you are already diminishing its value. You might sell it for "something", but don't necessarily expect to get your investment back. That's not how SEO works, you are OG, you know that.

i have never tried selling on godaddy auctions, but if 10 people want to buy a particular domain for close to $500 today, what are the chances i would not find atleast 1 person 6 months later paying atleast $400 from godaddy auctions?

Also, if that domain is at $500 now and auctions tend to end up in like 8 hours from now, I can guarantee, that the domain won't go for $500

And there is a good reason why it won't go for $400 and that's, that you are a third party and people don't believe third parties selling domains on auctions, because they might have been abused.

Majority of domains listed in Godaddy auctions are from Godaddy themselves.

New domain is a waste of time and energy. Anything expired with a decent backlink profile should rank better.

New = make your own brand, everything start from 0. Aged = have better or great start, but more expensive, and you need to do some research to make sure the aged domain is safe not banned, scam site etc. Well I am currently at the same position as you, I more lean toward aged 4 now, but still research and listing good domain I can buy. on my niche.

Building on an expired domain is risky to say the least. You need really good one relevant to your niche if you have already chosen the niche.

And you need shitload of content which will cost way more than the domain price itself. But if it worked, you will bank good

SEO as a whole became risky game to say the least. I would advice focusing on better stream of traffic
