Hey everyone,

I created an online tool 6 months ago that fetches and tracks items in a certain niche, and until now I've had not a lot of luck with ranking.

I created a blog and post a 500-1000 useful article once every few days, but when I fill in the url in on-page seo scanners I can see that the biggest issue is low content. This is due to all the pages created in request by the users giving them stats and results, but these pages almost have no words.

I can see many online tools ranking just fine without much word content (such as camelcamelcamel.com), how is this achieved?

You need to get backlinks to rank your tool.

Post in reddit, forums about your tool.

Contact bloggers who might find your tool interesting and ask them for review.

Since you have created good content (i hope) on your site, you now need to get high quality backlinks to your website

You should ask yourself why you are not ranking?
Just a few reasons, would be:
  • High completion, even if you have the best content there, if your competitors have a big aged authority web pages, getting ranked in it will be harder and take some quiet time for brand new websites
  • Lack of content in the specific page, okay here I saw so many pages ranking with almost no content at all or few paragraphs, but they got many quality backlinks
  • Lack of backlinks, On-page in done? Off-page SEO is the big game, buy some backlinks here in the marketplace, pick the quality ones.
  • Lack of social Signals, they do play a big role in SEO nowadays, get some good one
  • Check all the other SEO facts, hire someone to take a look...
I hope this helps!

The thing with Camelcamelcamel was it is mega useful so it was shared massively in the dropshipping and e-commerce space so they got an incredible amount of free backlinks and traffic.

If your tool is as useful as camel then you need to push it out more anywhere people will find it useful and you will gain a lot of free backlinks and traffic. But it will only work if your tool is really an answer to a problem or a timesaving tool.

You create a content about tool as a video format to attract the users and promote in social media and improve your back-links.

Build quality and relevant links, Guest post on relevant site,. Make use of social media, share useful content, reach target audience and increase site popularity. Try to increase positive review about your site, this will help to increase potential users.

Thanks for the input, everyone!
I will try to think of good content for social media and hopefully so increase visitors and backlinks.
