I noticed that numerous members get banned daily. I know numerous join daily too but rate of ban is too higher. I am worried we may not be left with too little members and as a result, loose value to this great community.

Even lots of premium and old members got banned lately. I know they must have broken the rules but at the same time, we loose old members that may be an asset to the forum.

I think most of the non premium members get banned as they try to sell something. And in many cases, they are simply unaware about it.

If the rules are placed clearly on each page of this forum and if new members are sent email to read the rules, we can avoid lots of bans.

Link of rules must be at prominent place so every member can read and know about it. Also if infractions total points before they get banned is increased from 10 to 20, that would also be of great help to retain members, specifically older members.

I hope Mods can consider the suggestions given, thanks.

Many actually are aware after their first warning.

When someone signs up they are linked to the terms of service which states the rules clearly.

If they need 20 points as a turning point then they typically do not care to stay in the proper lanes.

Those that try to sell that do not have proper permission are stealing from those that do have proper permissions such as you as well as the forum. Imagine someone walking into a brick and mortar business you own and them trying to sell to your customers a competing product. You would not like that.

Anyway, the warning system is being worked on and the rules aspect will be looked at after BHW 2.0 is released as the resources for that are pretty tied up at the moment.

The staff always appreciates the suggestions and keep those cards and letters coming.

There were 3 members I have banned today, all of who were caught selling several times, advised to upgrade their accounts but chose not to do so.

What you need to keep in mind @qualityservice is these people are stealing money out of YOUR pocket, because they are taking business away from you and other sellers who are upgraded in order to offer services.

Regular members selling.PNG

How many chances are these people wanting?

Also the number of Shitlists drops when we remove people like this.

If you have something to sell and can't be bothered paying the $97 to upgrade, then don't expect to be a member for long.

Thanks a lot @BassTrackerBoats & @MisterF for replying. It clears lots of questions which were in my mind for so long. However I would still request you to place the rules link clearly on homepage or at prominent place so innocent members may not get banned.

Thanks once again.

We don't ban right off... there is a policy in place where one has to violate a handful of times before banning and every time we warn we send a PM.

The rules are at the bottom of every page on the forum as well but new users do get them when they sign up.

The tolerance level we have for violations is off the charts as per this video posted somewhere here on BHW:

I'm not the only one that does this BTW, others do the same thing.

a lot of good members have left I lurk these days.

Mods read PM's so that's a nope from me.

Incorrect.

Admins have the ability to read PMs if the need arises.

I got an infraction from tipping off another member in a private message.

The member would never have reported me so yes PM's are read by mods.

BHW is a business, not a charity. The staff/mods are obviously going to ban people that misuse the forum.
I've seen members that registered 10 years ago and are still active here. Play by the rules and you can grow and flourish. This is the best managed forum, hands down.

If you promote other forums you are going to get a warning no matter where you share it guy with 6 warnings for a variety of things.

There is a saying in my mother tongue, which if I translate.. becomes (sounds a bit weird, but you get the point i guess):

It's better to have an empty chowshed rather than having a cowshed full of bad cows.

I do believe it applies for BHW too. If members break rules repeatedly, they get banned. That would happen in every popular forum. I don't see anything wrong with that.

The last one you 'flirted with' was actually a bloke called Gerald...... ;)
WT... hoping admins will respect the privacy and wont publish those chats and images i sent.... :(
