EBAY SALES SURGING due to Coronavirus

Guys, I just noticed this happening the last few hours.
I'm a small time seller...pushing about 0-2 sales per day on average.
Today I'm at 20 sales, almost $1000 and it's still pouring in. No joke!

Due to this coronavirus scare, everyone is binge shopping and stocking up
what they can. It's both scary and both amazing. I never had this many sales
in my life! The problem is my supplier is also running out of stock everywhere!
It's like just overnight, half of the things just went out of stock and the manufacturers
can't even keep up it seems.

This is crazy, but has anyone else experienced a recent surge in sales the past few hours?

Just to update you, I've been getting sales non-stop all day even now.... mind you, I'm a small time seller, so for me, 40 sales today (about $1500 worth) is the most I've ever had in my ebay history. I'm usually good with 1-4 sales a day but dang, 40?? My phone kept "cha-chinging" all day as reports came in of another sale, another sale....this coronavirus scare is really pushing people to stock pile or buy stuff they think will help them deal with this pandemic.

I'm surprised nobody else reporting in about their sales and how it's surged 400% ....everything is going out of stock, it's crazy!
 
Here's a screenshot of my trends over the month and as you can see today that massive bar skyrocketing and the second one is today and just starting to build too as the day progresses....

Probably depends what you sell.
Personally, my sales on eBay are way down.
Seems nobody is buying tchotchkes at the moment.
 
Good one, please can affiliate on ebay do this? or you have direct contact with the main sellers?
 
Are you selling toilet paper per roll??
Haha, that is an amazing business atm. Nowhere to get it. Food enough, but no tp for the bh.
 
Depends on what your are selling mate.
What are you selling currently? if it's sanity stuffs, like alcohol, napkins, tissue/toilet papers, mask, etc. for sure you'll get those High Demand.
 
100% correct guys. It does depend on what you sell. I can't give away the secret sauce but what I'm selling is ridiculous for my standards as a small time seller making 1-2 sales per day, the last 3 days now I've been making about 30-40 sales a day, $2000 per day in sales, my stats are going crazy and bonkers off the wall. Here is my latest metrics showing you almost 200% jump and it's continuing strong because the covid scare has just hit America this past week or so and everyone is going mad crazy stocking up everything they can like it is the end of days.

In one way, I'm very happy cuz business is booming, but in another way, it's kinda sad because people really don't need to panic this badly.

I actually feel the world has gotten closer and we are all one people for the moment because we are all going through the exact same issue and we can understand one another like never before.

Anyways, back to the ebay sales...it's so crazy. My phone keeps going off with notifications of sale after sale after sale...it's really addictive...what is that called...dopamine ride? It's like a high but at the same time I know the crash will hurt even more cuz I'll have gotten so used to making so many sales that when COVID19 dissipates, my sales will go back to the usual 1-2 per day and I'll just be average joe blow again. Right now, I feel like a pimp LOL. oh and my YT channel got demonetized again LOL. I'll update that on my youtube thread. I swear, I didn't even do anything since it was re-monetized lol. YT is messed up with this reviewing system. This is the 4th time getting demonetized after getting monetized 3 times again lol. I'll apply again next month and see what happens.

I am working in IT industry and my company is now overwhelmed with new orders, we never experienced such a boom during last 3-5 years.
 
I bet that's some toilet papers!
 
It's actually like a stock market game. I'm constantly checking the latest information on the products and then when I see a window open,
I upload a new listing and within minutes it sells and then it's all out and I move onto the next product and keep doing this. It's such an
adrenaline rush...I guess that's how they feel in the stock market ...knowing when to sell at what price, doubling the price due to demand, de-listing it due to out of stock, doubling the price because it's out of stock etc....I'm constantly checking products to find the perfect window and BAM list it and make the sales.
 
Well done... people in their homes and they love to do shopping online a specially when there are not a lot of things to do due to this coronavirus...
Even products with high competition getting sold easily now because other sellers get out of stock easily

For a shop I work for it has decreased...
From 40 sells a day to about 8 online.
We sell on Amazon and eBay mostly outdoor and sports products. Seems like nobody is interested in these anymore.

I think you should consider saving a significant amount of money aside to promote your business. Should Covid-19 tragedy ends, you don't want your sales to go down again.
