In China it killed only a 3% of infected people but
In italy 1400 recoveries - 1200 deaths
In france 12 recoveries - 79 deaths
In Spain 192 recoveries - 122 deaths

wtf is happening?

Are you including people who are still infected without an outcome here? It doesn't look like it

It is too early to make exact statistics but:

There were 145k cases as of right now, from which 76k have been closed. In those 76k ones 5.4k died, so that makes a rate of 7%. (Source: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/)

Yes, in Italy 1.4k recovered and 1.2k died, but there are other 15k active cases, why don't you mention that? This is what infringes panic.

Also, don't trust China, they will never give out real statistics.

Something I've found on Torum: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxHX7u2TXFU6kOKdb0LndfUgx0ZuRYQNk , for those that want to look more into the virus. (I don't guarantee the authenticity or anything in that matter, make your own assumptions)

If you're under 50 years old, the odds of dying are tiny. Unless you have some underlying condition.

If you're over 50 then things begin to complicate gradually.

In Italy it killed a lot of elderly people. Also they didn't test a lot of people, so the actual infections are much higher.

Right now the overall fatality rate is at 3.7% (https://www.who.int/docs/default-so...00313-sitrep-53-covid-19.pdf?sfvrsn=adb3f72_2)

Which means that over 96% of people who catch the virus will survive on average. But not without 3 to 4 weeks of mild to horrific flu.

250 deaths in last 24 hours in italy

Imho China has stopped worrying about it, therefore you can't rely on their metrics.

There are thousands and thousands of people undetected so the mortality rate would be much lower if the stats were "real".

Don't you think is a bit too late ?

It could have been stopped earlier !

ALL governments were extremely slow in stopping travel and closing public spaces.

The Chinese had no idea what to do. But the whole world watched what China did. After China everyone should've stopped travel in January 2020.

Greed spread this virus worldwide, now it's gonna cost 1000x more to fix this shit.

I think like you, I would closed Spain with the 1st coronavirus infected

I am from Bulgaria, here we entered in state of emergency at 8 infected, people already went crazy and shops today were full of people fighting for food..

Watching your Avatar just remembered me of a Simpsons TV show where this exact same virus was spread by chineese through (i dont recall now)
It was like 10 years ago, but i just recalled that ! Lol i will look for it.

What's happening? Nature is trying to balance the scale.

The more people it kills, the better.

This perhaps is pointless but you can´t divide the total number of deaths between active cases. You need to divide it between the total amount of reported cases.

This way you will get a more accurate mortality rate of the virus.

Total # of people who died / Total # People who were infected

So, the actual mortality rate is 3.73%.

Which is still very low.

But, I checked this stat last week and it was around 2%-2.5% so, it means it´s growing.

Looking a bit deeper into the mortality rate by demographic...

This graph taken from the same source above says the mortality rate on people above 50+ years old is around 28%.

Waaaay above the average of 3.7%

Also,

People with a pre-existing health condition are a lot more likely to die. For example, people with diabetes infected with the virus have a mortality rate of around 7%.

Also, for some reason, men have a higher mortality rate than women.
