Finding a partner to guest post - How do you do it?

I have started writing guides and tips for freelancers, but I recently found out that building backlinks would help your and their site rank better on Google.

I am curious, how can I find a partner such that they can post on my blog and I can post on theirs, such that we both get the backlinks?

Is that a thing at all?

simple link exchange worked for a while. But people are trying to find different approaches to avoid having a website link to and getting a link from the same partner site.. Because google can see right through that. So people are using a second website and promise a link from the second website if you guest post to the first, hope you understand what I`m talking about.

Link exchanges is not that good.
However you can go for guest posts. There are many sellers here or you can even outreach and get some links.
If your content is good, the blog owners might give for free. Else they normally take some charge

Link swapping is not acceptable in terms of google backlink strategies. But you will get benefits if you did properly.

Social media like Facebook and LinkedIn will be the perfect platform for approaching those offers.

You should ask yourself before accepting or approaching for link exchange.
Is that site having quality content?
Is that site having real traffic?
Is that site is related to your niche?
Is that site having low PBL?
Is that site having good metrics, low spam score, and good backlinks?
You can't simply accept all the domains for link exchange because of it free.
