One of the best ways to demonstrate the real value of SEO to enterprise-level clients is showing YoY traffic gap cause and effect relationship during the evaluation period.

As you already know, SEO takes usually 3 to 4 months for most campaigns, but for this case, I have promised my client that quick wins usually take between 4 to 6 weeks using the power pages method.

For more savvy clients, it's not just about rankings. They watch the YoY data like a hawk.

What ya guys think?

What is the "Power Pages method"?
It's nothing but identifying the right power pages and hitting them with authority building month after month.

The power pages can be service pages, blog posts or a variety but you can change depending on which pages have the most intent keywords on them but for the image above it was for service pages

How do you structure a service based power page for your customers?

Do you silo from the main / subtopic eg. seocompany.com/link-building/email-outreach

Or do you use a services silo eg. seocompany.com/services/email-outreach

How do you flesh out a services page to be a power page?

Thanks dude

As I recall, "Power Pages" are a concept which was introduced by Brian Dean few years ago. But these terms can probably be anything you want them do be :D

Evaluation period of more than a year for SEO clients? Most would ditch you if you don't show anything during the first like 3-6 months. If you have a contract for a test period of 1 year, good for you.

Why would you ever promise anything to a client you do SEO for?

The screenshot shows that there is no growth (even slight loss) in traffic after a year. What did you want to show with that screenshot?

P.S. And yes, clients are happy to see not only small growth month to month but also big changes over year to year. Annual reports are nice to show in those cases ;)

for the screenshot and since its an ecommerce site then they watch transactions and turnover.

I'm just saying that based on the screenshot, there is no growth in traffic after a year. Of course commercial aspects are the most important to an ecommerce store, but they have little to do with SEO.

Sorry to sound like a complete prick, but I refresh the BHW homepage constantly throughout the day while I'm at work (looking for interesting posts) always to find yet another thread created by @TheVigilante.

It's starting to feel very contrived, bordering on spammy - Like a noob trying to build "authority" on the BHW forum, inevitably gearing up to sell something under the guise of being "one of BHW's finest contributors", or even, dare I say "gurus".

I've seen it before an it's all so tiresome.

Case in point. The authoritative prose vs. obvious knowledge gap is as see through as an Adsense site in the weight loss niche circa 2009.

Look, I actually don't like calling BHW users out on their bullshit, and to be fair, some of his thread spam is actually quite valuable - Links to articles by trusted industry guys like Brian Dean, Neil Patel etc that we may have overlooked during our busy days can be quite a welcome refresher...But linking to news articles on Coronavirus or creating threads rehashing well known SEO techniques in an authoritative tone multiple times per day, does not a BHW guru make thee. It's spammy and it junks up the forum.

I genuinely LOVE finding people on this forum that have done the work and then shared their successes, especially those that don't self promote or try to come off as IM Gurus, selling yet another method or course. Impartial, informative and innovative. That's the gold in this forum.

Not the court jester who screams "I bring news!, I'm gaming views! Make me relevant!"

/Rant

Kinda have to agree with @croixstar.

Some of those posts are actually very valuable for community. To those who don't follow everyone and might have missed on that stuff. But you post a bit too much. You could just go for a weekly post where you talk about cool stuff that you have read that week. ;)

I will do it but again this is not for me but for the community as a whole

I understand it, but if you would push a bit more for quality and gather valuable posts each week, that compilation thread could be forwarded to others by BHW weekly newsletter for example.

I think that would be very cool.

You can't request them to do that and aren't the stuff I have shared quality ones?

What more quality are you expecting like some ground breaking share?

Not to bash you, but even this thread has no real point.

Posts that you make are mostly just a copy&paste part of someone's article and then adding a link. I doubt you even read those posts fully yourself.

And by quality I mean that you could make these posts in a different way: read in full and then give your TL;DR version with your insights. That would probably help the community more than just copy&paste for likes.

P.S. I'm here talking shit while making no contribution myself

I go through them but it's also best to give credit to the source else it will be deleted

For sure, have to credit the author. Just saying that you should add some of your own insights that you got after reading the post.

Say what you read and make some statements, propose a discussion on whether or not that statement is true. Just make it more interesting by adding something from yourself ;)

No, you've spent money buying Jr VIP yet you have nothing to sell.

You haven't done the work.

You're trying to establish yourself as a Big Dog on an internet marketing forum because making bullshit posts every day is far easier than actually doing the work to come back and sell or give away something of real value.

The IM Guru thing died years ago. There are no shortcuts mate.

You have the drive. Get to work

Yeah you are probably killing it lol

What might be trash for you might be good for someone

Not everyone is a pro like you and btw the other people don't have any issue with it why even bother?

That's a bit too harsh, there is no need for this talk.

I think his intentions are good, but the approach should be improved. But that is how you learn.

I wish someone had given me a kick in the ass 10 years ago when I was parading around writing articles on Warrior Forum and other IM places that I knew nothing about, pretending I knew what I was doing because being a Guru was the ultimate title to strive for.

I see it happening here all the time. But the landscape has changed now and it's harder than ever to win at this game.

The last thing I want to see is new people reading these kind of threads written as authoritative guides when the author has no idea what they're doing and sending people up the garden path.

But hey, I'm still learning too, and this is not my forum.
