Coronavirus is changing the way the world says “hello”

Some people around the world shake hands. Some hug. Some rub their noses together. And some—many in fact—kiss on the cheek. But now, as Covid-19 spreads around the globe, people are rethinking how they say hello.

That’s exactly what Germany’s interior minister did today—to much laughter—when he declined to shake chancellor Angela Merkel’s hand.

Ebola rate of death around 50%, no1 gives a fck, mers death rate 20%, the same, sars around 10%, it May be something deadly, corona around 2.5%,it's The end of the world. I Wonder when a New virus with 1% death rate will come, what will happen next? I mean, mass media makes it worse that it is.

Did you use an ATM today? Use a public bathroom? Touch any public door handle, a chair or table at a public place, an elevator button, a shopping trolley/basket, books or any other item that other people have touched?

If so, you picked up germs all over your hands. Shaking hands is nothing compared to what you touch in a regular day.

I mean, yeah of course? Ebola was never a global issue, it typically spreads through bodily fluids (commonly flood, feces, vomit, etc.) which is why it is most prevelant in the poorest parts of the world. It's pretty hard to get Ebola, and almost impossible to get it in most countries. It will never be a global pandemic unless it mutates and becomes spread through other means but even then I believe they already have an effective vaccine so it will probably be contained quickly.

With MERS, there has been no sustained human to human transmission and only a few thousand cases in total over the past decade. SARS does have a higher death rate then Corona however it doesn't spread as easily thus can be contained.

This new Corona virus is very serious. WHO recently upgraded the death rate to 3.4%. It's is highly infectious; case in point, it killed 3 times as many people in first 2 months then SARS did during 8 months through that last outbreak in China.

It's not the end of the world, but this is way more serious then Ebola or any other disease in recent times.
