Get rid of both plugins and replace it with google-analytics-for-wordpress. You will find it at wordpress plugins.
Before you activate the plugin, go to Google Analytics and get your Analytics Account ID. This is the UA-265120983-23 number.
Once you have this number copy it to your clipboard and go back and activate the plugin. Once you do, go to settings and paste the code into the area provided and then goto the bottom and "Update the settings" on the plugin. This will place your code where it belongs in your WP blog and you will never have to do anything more than update the plugin when it's required.
Now, Google Analytics is ok, but it provides you with limited data. It's limited because any browser that has their java turned off, Google analytics will not pick it up. So you are working with sub-standard stats.
It does not sound like you are ready to install AWSTATS yet so I would recommend a simple program that is free and will help fill in the gaps that Google Analytics leave behind.
It's called Slimstat and you can find it at ww*w.slimstat.*net
The installation instructions are there also and it is very simple and easy to install. Latest version is 2.0.
You will find that with the google analytics plugin and the slimstat script installed, you will get the stats you want, but remember the analytical information are a day behind.
I hope this helps you.
