Trip to Asia - Coronavirus?

If you booked the trip from a local agency, if I were you I'll go straight there and tell them that I won't go due to latest developments, but you will go if they lower the price with 50% or more! Be smart.
Unfortunately, we purchased flights tickets individually. We won’t Get any money back or so on...
It’s now all about risk - go, or stay without money spent.

hhaha i just cancelled my trip to Asia too , Malaysia and South korea , the situation is getting bad in korea , so i cound't go

China is picking up dead bodies left and right, nbd. Go scope it out. Send pics back

I go in Thailand in 1 week, hope there will be no problem xD

If you have a strong immune system, you are good to go ✌️
I wouldn't necessarily say so. Don't forget at least two Doctors in China also died from the virus.

Here is the thing...as someone above already said: You will hear "We will all die" or "Its no problem". The big problem I see is; We have no idea what is really going on, since the China gov. is not transparent at all.

Human stupidity plays a big role in this situation. For example someone above mentioned Korea. There was a women who refused medical checks etc. and then she just infected 30+ people. Right now I am in China and today I went outside (everyone is wearing masks, you get your temperature checked everywhere etc.), but there are still some idiots, which have no hygiene at all, spit everywhere, removing their masks to cough or sneeze without putting their hand/arm in front of their face. My guess is the virus spread so much, because the hygiene level in here is so low. Somehow the people act like they are 4 years old, they don't know its important to wash hands, they don't know its rude to cough at other people's face etc. In fact a few months ago I was sitting in a cafe in Shanghai and observed all these hygiene problems. It was absurd how many times I saw people coughing at each other, sneezing at each other without protecting, spitting etc. just within a couple of hours. I was thinking to myself "If there would serious virus in here the people would be doomed, because of no hygiene".

What makes the situation awkward: You can't protect yourself from idiots.

until you die of coronavirus
Death is inevitable sooner or later. I'd rather live my life. I was through a similar situation years back, to have fun and visit the world or stay home. I choose to stay home and now I regret it.

Hey guys. I booked a trip in 2019 to Asia - Thailand, Cambodga, Singapure. Going in march.

Are there people living in these countries? What about coronavirus? Is it safe, or would You recommend to stay?
I am asking because The situation is not clear, in theory there are a lot Of people Healthy, but a lot is dead, and there are more more strange news.

How it looks in these countries? I won’t Get money refund Probably, that’s Why I am asking. Is it ok time to fly?
Maybe someone has been in those countries Last time?
Thanks for any advices!

Are you being serious? More people die of other diseases everyday, things like japanese influenza, malaria or rabies..even normal flue or dirreah from
gastrointestinal virus..

HERE:
CHINAS POPULATION 2018 : 1,427,647,786
CORONA INFECTED PEOPLE IN CHINA: 72.000
People died from it: 2200+
So all in all..?
Why aren't you scared getting the flu? It could kill you any day..
It is sickening that there is another dangerous diseases..yes but media just hypes it up.
I'm sad about corona, we didn't need another virus because we have enough from cancer and other shit..

But the countries you mentioned are Singapore: 70%+ are chinese speaking people and most visit china..annually, so DON'T FKING WORRY.
What kind of mental thinking is that? not even 1% of chinas population has the virus ..ffs not even 0.1%..out of 100%

Oh and Edit: For example we got corona here in germany and italy and yet it's still not 0.001% of our population..in those countries. So the chance of you getting it in Thailand, Singapore etc. are the Lottery numbers, if you get it, play fking lottery. You got a bigger chance of stage 2 cancer without knowing it.

This is your answer. Nobody couldn't say it better.

Lmao, I'm sure you don't have a Master of Mathematics in Statistics but you don't need one to understand the basics.

The issue isn't the number of people it has affected... it's the rate at which it's growing and no signs of it slowing yet.

This is exponential growth like 2^x. Read all about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exponential_growth

As plain numbers, you can see exponential growth in S Korea:

Feb. 22: 433 cases (current day, still in progress)
Feb. 21: 209 cases
Feb. 20: 111 cases
Feb. 19: 58 cases
Feb. 18: 31 cases

This isn't linear, and it's certainly not logarithmic.

Also, you're comparing COVID to malaria, but malaria doesn't really effect the first world at all and is quite contained there. Seeing countries like SK unable to control it is what is freaking people out.

Malaria map below.

This is a big quote but it should be quoted again. How the fuck does this even need explaining. Comparing this to Rabies or Malaria is ridiculous.

The guy also said the media hypes it up but I don't read the news so I can only imagine tbh - but you can see all you need to know in the stats, and the hype is waranted.

And I would not be surprised if China is downplaying their death stats to protect their reputation. If they claim 2k deaths, I would literally be unfazed if it was actually 20k deaths, or 50k or 100k. All hypothetical but a very realistic possibility.

I do a lot of work with people in China (like many others on here) and one contact said they're just picking up dead bodies left and right. I'm not one to dwell on stuff like this, but I think downplaying it as "oh it's just like malaria" is pretty unintelligible. Learn, adapt, move forward.
