Author profiles/bios on wp site SEO impact

It is kind of weird asking this question after being here for such a long time... But what do you do with your author profiles on your sites?
One of my old sites might have got hit by that and lost almost all traffic. I would like to avoid this on my new sites. I am not fan of faking the author profile, but if I have to I will.

Can I have a company profile as an author or is that completly wrong idea?

Yes you can write about your company in details. It is company bio. Content should be creative you can write what you do, how you developed, benefits and what you're going to do next.
