But why? 4-character and 3-character usernames are very expensive and valuable. It is also difficult to find a 5 character username. Shouldn't it be more expensive? At least isn't it 10 dollars?

it is not about the letter. it may cost 1000s dollars or not even 1 dollar. If your username is something which is useful to some other brand then they might buy it from you in the expensive rate but at the end of the day the pricing completely depends on what value it holds for some other people.

There are 3 letter 2 digit usernames available and they are not difficult to find. At least not $10 difficult.

It's worth whatever someone's willing to pay for it. Realistically, unless it's a vanity name, no one's going to pay for a username with random letters/numbers just because it's 5 characters. Even if they did want that name, they would just add a dot or underscore for free.

Google how many combinations are there in 3 letters/digits, 4 letters/digits/ and then 5 letters digits and will find out why the difference is MASSIVE. Its like asking why $10 are lower amount than $1M.

There is no value in the name unless it is a brand or unless it has a following.
You're doing digital point stuff looking to market that.

Why do you think a username with 2 random numbers and 3 letters would be valuable in the first place? There are plenty of unused 5 character usernames you can register without any number and that actually have some sort of a meaning, not "jjkls" or similar useless ones.
As mentioned already, it is only valuable if there is a company that uses that combination as their username and is looking to expand to IG. I doubt there are many companies with 2 digits and 3 letters though... You can probably get $2 if you'll try hard enough. Unless it's some god tier combination you are hiding

Usernames consisting of just 1-3 letters/numbers are really valuable. I have seen single letter instagrams get flipped for 15k USD.

He is asking for 5 characters name - 3 letters AND 2 digits. And this is quite different than "single letter" or 3 letters names.
