I'm in the process of starting a streetwear brand. Should I go with shopify or wordpress? There will be less than 50 sales per month for the first 6-7 months. The basic shopify plan is around 25.. is it worth it? or should I go about setting up the shop with wordpress?(Obviously cheaper but complicated I guess?) Your opinion is welcomed.

Are you looking for a webshop platform without too much hassle (no hosting, no configuration of plugins and need only the simple settings), go for Shopify. If you need a complex webshop with for example different checkout options, go with WooCommerce.

I am building a KW research based informational website where I post evergreen articles as posts. So in Wordpress the latest one show up on top.

In addition to evergreen informational articles, I want to be publishing news/memes as a news feed (like on Facebook wall). And I want to keep this feed separately, on a separate page. Yet, I want each of these news/meme posts be as a separate post, so I could share this stuff on forums and in social media and drive "viral" traffic to the website.

Question: is there an easy way to create this type of feed on WP website?
One of the options I considered is to create a subdomain. But as long as I'm aware subdomain doesn't pass the link juice to the main domain.

1) Does the choice of theme really impacts load speed? If yes, any recommendations on speed optimised theme?

2) How do you go about updating Wordpress, php version and plugins on a very old site, that will most likely break? Are Wordpress/plugins really necessary to update?
