I'm from this generation and I still don't get it. It's baffling, it's intriguing, it's intimidating and, above all, it's utterly absurd. Post-modernism has never been this relevant.

You don't have to get it, it's simply not for you, and it doesn't have to be. I'm sure there are things you and your generation are into that your parents (and their generation) would say the very same thing about you for. You have your tastes, they have theirs, the world evolves, and things change.

I don't know, with all the bullshit that is going on lately, it seems like our Youth nowadays is turning into shit. Why? Well, i just looked on TikTok for marketing reasons and realized that all of these videos there are pure garbage, everyone that has 500 followers on TikTok thinks he automatically is an entrepreneuer while continuing to post shitty content.

I see these girls, that are 16 years old, showing their huge eyes on TikTok (meaning they are on drugs) with a song in the background about MDMA while some younger kids comment "
sympathetic", WTF! Is this what this youth is turning into? 16 y/o druggies that live their whole life on the internet trying to become an entreprenuer by posting videos of their half naked body while "dancing" to a song?

Now don't get me wrong, there are great and very creative people on TikTok but the majority of it, is just pure bullshit. And Snapchat? Jesus, don't get me started on this crappy platform...

What has this world turned into? What's your take on it? Do you ignore this shit or does it bother you as well?

I'd blame shitty parents. My and a bit older generation of fucked people raising kids they werent supposed to have in the first place. This is the result

I don`t use social media for personal purposes, for me social media is just showing egos to people.
Weirds, creepy people and all this showing up people were, are and will be forever; now it`s just easier to find them. Before was no internet so you were limited just to your neighbors, city, TV, and newspapers.

Social media is f-ing them up, no doubt about it. I saw recently how the suicide rate (or attempted suicides, can't remember) had gone up 400% among young girls/women aged 14-28 since Instagram got released. All you see if how "perfect" people look and how "perfect" their lives are (mostly fake, but what do they know), and then they look at their own lives and how they look, and get majorly depressed. Fuck social media, it's only good for marketing, not for personal use IMO.

Don't even get me started on TikTok, what a cringe-fest that is, holy moly. I'd rather wipe my ass with chili and sandpaper than watch another video from there.

I'm no different, really. If I would get millions of impressions on my "high vlogging" videos that I never upload, I'd definitely do it. I'd sync lip Bieber or whatever f*ckery is popular these days, and flaunt my long hair for views. I'd do that, and convert that audience into profit... and then keep the ones that matter to me by changing the content down the way with proper PR.
