I hate how the Youth is developing!

Every generation says this lol, nothing has changed.

Well yes and no.

No other generation before has had access to so much information and no social media platforms. So yes things have changed.

I don't know, with all the bullshit that is going on lately, it seems like our Youth nowadays is turning into shit. Why? Well, i just looked on TikTok for marketing reasons and realized that all of these videos there are pure garbage, everyone that has 500 followers on TikTok thinks he automatically is an entrepreneuer while continuing to post shitty content.

I see these girls, that are 16 years old, showing their huge eyes on TikTok (meaning they are on drugs) with a song in the background about MDMA while some younger kids comment "
sympathetic", WTF! Is this what this youth is turning into? 16 y/o druggies that live their whole life on the internet trying to become an entreprenuer by posting videos of their half naked body while "dancing" to a song?

Now don't get me wrong, there are great and very creative people on TikTok but the majority of it, is just pure bullshit. And Snapchat? Jesus, don't get me started on this crappy platform...

What has this world turned into? What's your take on it? Do you ignore this shit or does it bother you as well?
Well.
I dont like it, but is there anything i could do about it???
NO.

Okay, boomer. lol

But seriously, I get what you mean. It's insanely disgusting nowadays. Imagine being a young person among this generation.

I agree with most of the replies above. Age definitely plays in a role in that statement i have made in my title. But i am still young as well, i had Instagram and Facebook when i was younger as well and it didn't make me a crazy person that craves the attention from other people around the world. I think we, as a society play a huge role in how the generation is forming and how it will form in the next years. I know that an individual cannot raise a whole generation, but i just wanted to share my thoughts with ya'll.

If you didn't want em to turn out like that, shoulda raised em better ;)

i seriously doubt that it all has to do with raising it. Sure, it definitely plays a big role in how you raise your kid, but at some point the kid needs to go to school and gets in touch with other kids that have been raised differently. So society and friendships definitely play a big role in the development of the kid especially between 6-16 y/o. I don't know how a parent would be able to control that.
Half the world needs a good slap if you ask me. Everyone is way too sensitive..
agreed
I totally see your point. I think it's an age thing though, I'm 35.
Lol, don't say that. I am 12 years younger than you and you make me feel old :D
You are right, i should've focus my efforts to "what can i make with this generation, how can i benefit from it?" instead of complaining about it, cannot change it anyways lol
I'm a parent my daughter wants a phone (she's 10) I've refused because she does not have a valid reason to have one. EVEN if she did... id refuse. She gets upset over the stupidest things, can communicate when she's not glued to the tv and is just a typical CHILD.
I think your daughter hates you right now, but will thank you a lot when she gets older :)

LOL.. we get on fine she thinks it's unfair but there you go it's part of it :)

Three Steps to Raising a Well-Adjusted Kid:
  1. Don't emotionally or physically, abuse or neglect them
  2. Don't be broke, unable to provide the very basic necessities: food, shelter, clothes, etc. Don't ever hint at your finances being in trouble
  3. Surround yourself and your kids with the best influences you can find. Don't put them in public school (absolute trash)
Number 3 is the most important. You basically have no real control or "impact" in changing your kids; they'll mimic and become like the people they're surrounded most by. If they're good people of good stock (well-vetted private school or some other arrangement), then you have a higher chance of your kid not turning into a fuck-up. If your kid makes friends with other fuck-ups, that's usually a sign their home-life, ergo you, fucked up somewhere down the line (see: emotional and physical support, and nurturing). Or their home environment is unstable and chaotic (always worrying, never able to relax, etc.).

The majority of kids are fucked up, because the majority of people are fucked up.

Look at your average person, pure, utter, garbage. Trash human beings. These are the people those kids will turn into down the line. Make peace with it.

Fortunately it's not in my face, because i don't use social media for personal purposes at all. But it's enough, if you look at them IRL to come to the same conclusion. I mean, what's with that stupid haircut every teenage boy have these days? They all look the same, zero creativity, zero individualism. But it's ok. When you're young, you're part of the sheeple more than in any other period throughout your lifetime. Peer pressure is big, hence you adopt stupid things/habits, you otherwise wouldn't. When you grow older, you leave most of it behind and you become a functioning adult. At least this is how, it's supposed to work.

Isn't this whole "the youth is turning into shit" what those say, who aren't young anymore? :p It happens in every era.

Time will tell, i guess.

Time will definitely tell, i just don't think it will tell something good. Guys start acting like females and all of that shit, i just recently saw a TikTok of a german boy (like 12 or 13 or something) and he was making a video about his dick size and all the girls started going off on him "how cute he is" and the heart emoji and all this shit. Like WTF, that's hella messed up...

I'm more concerned about things like catfishing scammers on dating sites and the like.

As for this, I don't want to get involved in this niche perosnally so don't have any first hand account, but I watched a film called camgirl on netflix the other day. It's a light horror film but theme is relevant - and all I can gather is that these a lot of these girls are from perfectly normal, stable families but the girls LOVE and crave the attention, trying to make it to the top of whatever platform it is, whatever they have to do to get there.

I mean i'm a caveman with this kind of thing and never even signed up to a porn site in my life but if they think they know whats best for them, then what can you do?

Youth is for learning from your mistakes, but in this day and age, they better hope for their own sakes any mistake doesn't surface ten years from now with a whole drive of graphic evidence when they're about to get married or trying to get ahead in their careers. I think some fiances and especially some employers might not be very forgiving.

Yes but every generation has access to new tech and ideas, and they change, and the older generation says how they dont like how the younger gen is changing.
Its always been that way.
Kids have always been kids and kids have always been stupid. The expression of stupidity is all that changes. Its still the same kids doing stupid shit gen after gen for the most part.

I think the tech side of things is different compared to anything before it. More so when you throw in connectivity.

Enjoy the decline, brother.

There has never been a time more accepting of being a sexual, moral, and hedonistic degenerate.
Bro what do you think happened at Woodstock lol?
Bunch of kids on drugs free love (banging everyone) lol. Nothing changes
Also I dont see any sexual or moral degeneracy. Thats more just probably your personal outlook being different, and therefore you think others are bad for being different.
I mean if people want to have sex or be gay or whatever who cares its not degeneracy.

There certainly is some left wing shouting going on but reality is its a small population with a loud voice is all

In all honesty, I'm slowly drawn to the hedonist approach to life. One way or another, I've always been craving it... no matter how hard I try to convince myself otherwise. All that aside, I'd love to leave literature behind. I believe I have stories to tell, ideas and observations to document.

Nah, not that kind of sexual degeneracy. I mean hookup culture lol. It's gotten way easier to get laid without any strings attached, and I'm lovin it. But the girls are really fucking themselves over in the long-run doing this shit, while I'm enjoying myself without any problems. It's just unhealthy and gonna lead to a lot baggaged-up grown ass women down the line.

Not even gonna get into how many girls cheat (I will admit having slept with women with boyfriends and husbands). It's all too common and has left me pretty fucking jaded lol. No one's loyal, no one wants commitment, they all want the next best thing -- because they can get it now. Everyone gets to have their cake and eat it too.

If you wanna fuck dudes/girls/traps/trannies/whatever, that's a lot more acceptable now-a-days. Sex for sex's sake (without increasing the bond between you and your partner or for making babies) is hedonistic at its core.

The internet is your canvas, paint us your mosaics. If you can draw any insights or personal lessons from them -- all the better.

In a world without meaning, we make our own. And I've chosen to maximize my long-term satisfaction with life by being a filthy, godless, uncaring degenerate.

Do you ignore this shit?
I do. Who cares what other kids are doing? :p
I am more concerned about my own kid, being a father. Atleast we as parents can make sure that our kids are raised in a better environment.

I come from a generation where it’s all about text books, you spend your entire school years reading (or Atleast everyone else did). I mean graphic design at school what is that crap? Pen paper design a cup or something lol.

I was bullied all my childhood with many visits to the hospitals, do you know what got me through it all? Computers. I spend my childhood playing text based games, creating little 200x200px images for my account.

This lead me to know photoshop, this landed me a job after the military as a graphic designer, which in turn lead me into developing scripts with SQL in housing. From there I work as a programme analyst for housing, analysing government contracts and claiming money back. (Decent paid job now: £37k pa.

I was told after the army I’d never work in it from job seekers, and look at me now. All thanks to the lack of being glued to Facebook at the age of 10 or what not (that never existed).

I also read a programming book for 8y+ the other day and didn’t have a clue what they was asking me, so as much as I hate to admit it, the young ones are the ones developing new technology and therefore I’m not against it.

I am however against ever letting my kid have a phone, I didn’t have one until I was 16. So they can have one at 10 if the begged but it’s going to be an old school Nokia with snake .

That is why I don't use social media, I don't wanna look at that.

Your parents probably said the same about your generation, and their parents probably said the same about them. You don't get it because it's not meant for you, and that's fine. My generation still laughs about how corny we were during the Myspace age, even though we don't regret any of it. They're having fun right now and will laugh at it years later. Let kids be kids.

I'm from this generation and I still don't get it. It's baffling, it's intriguing, it's intimidating and, above all, it's utterly absurd. Post-modernism has never been this relevant.

Ahhh, I see you too took higher-level English classes. An absolutely priceless experience that lends absolutely priceless skills.
