Expired domain with no backlinks

I’m looking at using an expired domain for my next local site. Would using an expired EMD that has a lot of domain age, and no backlinks be better than using a fresh domain

Backlinks pretty much non existent, domain was previously a local service business so clean. Domain is 5 years old

One domain I found is still indexed and one is not, I assume the one that isn’t indexed would have lost any benefit when it got deindexed

EMDs still work, they're just sometimes not that popular to flip.
If you're using it for rank and rent etc, go for it.

Thanks for the reply, would I benefit at all from using the expired domain vs using a fresh one?

If you're taking it because of the domain age, then don't as it's just pretty much useless.

If you're taking it because of EMD then take it, but make sure it has a clean backlink profile first.

If it is indexed than its OK.

No backlink = No value (In terms of aged domain/expired domain)

But if you think it's a brandable name & suits with your business, you can have it.

I suggest you before using expired domain first check flow those things. Make sure that site has High PA and DA.
Do analyse the website backlink profile and website archive check.
Start with fresh unique high quality content.
