Pay no attention to what other people say about the difficulty levels of anything.
That´s a very subjective thing to say.
Whenever you hear someone say "don´t go into that niche or target that keyword because is too competitive", they´re pretty much saying i just don´t feel like working too hard for this.
Also, they have no idea about your level of expertise in the field nor how passionate you are about it.
They´re pretty much talking about their expertise and their capabilities, not yours!
Yeah, it might be a niche filled with authority websites dominating the entire SERP of Google but that doesn´t mean 1 year from now your site can be ranking #1 for several of those high competitive keywords.
If your website is on point with On-Page SEO factors and you´re writing high quality, adding value to your audience, your articles are both engaging and appealing...The sky is the limit, my friend.
Personally, i would niche-down as much as possible.
This will make it easier for you to rank on Google.
If you´re having issues picking a niche nor you´re 100% sure if you´re going with the niche you picked, then take a look at these resources.
They will definitely give you a hand picking out the right niche for you.
