I have a 6 month old website, that I want to keep for now. It's an ecommerce store.

I am making $300 a month at the moment, with my traffic constantly growing.

I wish to build it to $1000 a month, then flip it.

How much would I get for this ?

Where is the best place to sell, as I'm reading mixed reviews on sites like Flippa, etc ?

For $1k per month, i would say around $15k. Depends on a lot of factors though, like scalabity, consistency etc.

I`ve just sold yesterday a site who did ~1 Euro a day with 1k because no time for that side project to an Ad Company, depends if they see something on your site valuable in the long term.

If you will make 1k per day and the site is solid, it can be flipped it even for 25-30k to the right people.

Flippa is shit these days.

30x would be the right price but you need to provide details that you are earning this constantly and this is not just a one month fluke. You can check out Empireflippers and flippa, both of them offer services for selling your website.

My niche is quite obscure. This is another reason why I was wondering if sites like flippa, etc would be the best place I sell ? or do I contact my business "competitors" and offer to sell ?

For my niche, I don't feel empire, flippa, etc would have the "right targeted audience" - maybe's there is but I don't feel there will be. As I said before, my niche is quite obscure. However, I could be wrong.

Yeah, my website is in quite an obscure niche. So whilst I understand you can sell on flippa, empire, etc. I don'tthink they would have the "right targeted audience" - So I was even thinking off reaching out to competitors and offer them but not too sure they would bite.

I want to grow it to a consistant $1000 a month, then flip. Then re-invest the money into another side project I am working on.

I'm not looking to flip to November/December - That's obviously based of the fact, that growth would continue and consistanly earning $1000 a month for at least 3 months.

Hi KlaudiaK,

I am sorry to piggyback on your thread. I am interested in learning more about your niche, how long the site has been running, how much your advertise... Anything of substance really. Or ignore me - no big deal.
SysAdmin and Developer myself; I haven't much though of reselling. $300 a month is great if it's on auto-pilot. Would love to learn more if you're up for it.

The ballmark figure is 12x-20x the monthly income depending on what the niche is and the potential in it.

I would say that FeInternational, webflippers, Empire Flippers and other flipping sites except Flippa will 99% decline your offer. They don't even accept ecomerce sites with 2k per month earning and if they do, you need to have 100% passive incimy, so no Instagram shoutout and no ads can be your traffic source. Low earning ecomerce sites are the hardest to sell with high X (25-32).

You can sell on Flippa tho, but good luck with that.

Perhaps contact your competitors and see if they would be willing to buy yours. You could also see if they would be willing to sell their site to you. This would be a good way to see how much they are making and might be helpful when valuing your site. For the right price it might not be bad idea to purchase some competitors and bundle them up for sale.

Can you share why FeInternational, webflippers, Empire Flippers might decline the offer? I have a similar legit site which I want to sell (pets niche) I was hoping i could sell it at EF

Do you have an eCommerce site? If you have traffic mainly from social media they won't accept it as no one wants to buy them. It's hard to sell product and they just pass Ecom websites. I'm not sure what they would say about sites who earn 5k+ per month, but below that 99% they will say no.

I don't want to believe you meant a site making 1k a day(30k to 31k a month) would be sold for 25k to 30k... Selling such at such price would be the most stupid thing anyone could do unless doomsday is very close by

When you say ecommerce you mean drop shipping sites? That niche is kind of risky anyway, I can see why they wouldn't accept it.

Yea, dropshipping. So for those sites, I would suggest to scale as high as possible, hire someone for a 1000 bucks per month to manage it and forget. You can, of course, put a listing on Ebay or Craigslist with a 35x price.

But I'd be weary of selling anything digital like this on ebay. The buyer can easily claim x, y or z and open a claim
