[Suggestion] Change Thanks to "Like"

Hi, I hope everybody is doing just fine.

I love liking posts that bring value to BHW and its user-base. This may seem like a small suggestion that isn't needed, but there is a reason behind it.

For example, if someone likes your post, you receive a notification saying: "X liked your post in the thread XXX" but when you hover over to the thumbs-up icon, it shows "thanks" instead of "like". I know, it doesn't make much of a difference but just thought I'd try leaving my suggestion. So, my only suggestion here is changing "thanks" to "like" as the notification shows like and not something like "X thanked your post in the thread XXX."

Thank you for leaving your suggestion - it might be an improvement to change it to "like" instead of "thanks".

Personally, I'd prefer it remain as "thanks" as members can use that instead of responding with short "thanks" posts which is usually used for inflating their post count.

However, it's always good to hear other opinions, so I'll leave this open to see if anyone else has suggestions or feedback for this.

That sounds like a good alternative. There are actually a few features in BHW 2.0 that might be similar to what you're suggesting.

As a new user I got confused too. I wanted to like the post but it displayed thanks which didn't make sense to me since likes and thanks conveys different messages so missed liking some great comments and posts at first.

As OP mentioned , "it's not much difference", so he know there is no much difference bcoz I feel like or thanks are given for same kind of purpose ..if we start creating button for like, thanks...then next comes to dislike or reaction like we see in fb in recent days... So let's make it meaningful if only required and not for same kind of reactions we would like to give for a post... BTW let's try to make this community healthy and perfect with suggestions and decide what is really needed and unique

For me it does not effect much. Some maybe commonly click "like" button in other social media platforms, so it sounds like much better using "like" instead of "thanks"
