New Google Update January 2020

I have like 2 months old streaming movies website i was having 150 to 200 visitors aday now it just 7 aday

So I've been struggling with the difference between the recommendations on BHW and the recommendations on Google. Google's basically stated you will be flagged and de-ranked for most of the stuff we're doing on BHW in their new TOS.

Is this something new, or has this been happening for ages?
There are both good and bad SEOs in BHW. Make sure you follow the good one and do what google says.

I also had its impact on my website but it was on 7th Jan, though SEMrush showed in its traffic graph that they sensed a high activity in the US Database. Looking forward to knowing what I need to do to recover.

Being in a local, niche related service business...

Everytime BHW starts an "SEO algo update thread" I check rankings, BOOM - Increase! It's about time the hard work, QUALITY links, on page optimization, and well designed articles pay off.

Going from #3 to #1 on several MAIN keywords, with 130% increase in traffic is pure bliss.

My tips, stay away from cheap links. Go for NICHE related and high quality.

I think above all else google is getting smarter everyday regarding articles. First thing I would do is make 100% sure your content is not spun or poor quality.

Yeah Google is getting so smart that they're indexing articles that someone copied word for word from my website and posted on a web 2.0 instead of my own hand-written articles. So smart right.

Totally agree... I was hit the same way and until now my traffic is almost at zero (from 5K users per day). Whitehat and quality content - so smart Google!!!!
Anyone with the same problems recovering yet?

Yeah I had around the same amount of daily users (3-4k/day) and am down to like 100 users per day. It fucking sucks because I put a lot of time in this website, writing over 200 articles and then to just get shit on like this by Google is painful. Especially when it seems like it's because some guy decided to copy my website and put it on a web 2.0. What am I supposed to do against that. I already filed a copyright complaint to the web 2.0 provider but I think the damage is already done and it's too late. And even if not, this is a huge flaw in their algorithm. What prevents someone from doing the same thing over and over again...

I can relate to your anger really well... Let’s hope for the best... Did you reach out to Google in any way with this problem? (Webmasterforum/Twitter...)

Nah man, I read some threads on that webmasterforum and it's filled with "gold product experts" giving bullshit advice that's not helpful to anyone. I don't think Google is gonna help me on Twitter either. I'll just wait until this update finishes rolling out, maybe it'll improve. The search results are just bad in general imo, they can't stay like this. But who knows, it's Google after all, apparently they can do whatever the fuck they want and people will still use their search engine.

True. It makes me wonder if this gold product experts are actually doing SEO or are webmaster by themselves...or if they ever ranked for a term. Its just beyond me how these people can give this kinda bullshit advices. For example on the 17th December update. So many people complained about a sudden drop and all they do is "oh, you should focus on your content" ffs

My main earner took a small, but noticeable hit.

I've been looking through different forums and threads, but I can't see any pattern yet. Is there a "main theory" that people are going after? Obviously too early, as not enough data has been collected - but perhaps people are seeing something obvious.

So you mean multiple niche blog will definitely get hit by this update

No, not at all. What I am saying is if you provide good quality content, have a fast loading site and invest in good links then you have nothing to worry about.

Clive answers this here too; https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/new-google-update-january-2020.1192722/page-7#post-12794002

For me changes of the algorithm didn't start to appear until 10pm last night (GMT) I've seen good results for things I've been working on. Hopefully it stays this way I try not to make any solid conclusions on "effects" until the roll out has finished.

This update isn't about a penalty or to exclude any "SEO method" if you have moved down it's simply because some other site(s) are doing things a little bit better or different to you. That's how I read that movie example anyway - your site may still be a no.1 spot but a slightly better site has come along with new trends and techniques to push you down a slot.

So I think if you have been "effected" it's time to go back through your competitors see if there is anyone new and start to make some comparisons, take notes and start testing out some theories.

Guys I have seen some useless blogspot sites ranking top in search results. This is amazing, AlhamduLillah my sites' ranking have increased but it's a little strange to see blogspots and tumblrs with spun content ranking in top SERPs

So parasites are getting a boost? Good to know :) Is this US Google or?

Not all. I've seen some parasites that I own get few spots lower than what they were before in the US.
Are they blogspot or something else? I've heard from others that blogspot got a boost too (owned by Google?)
