Hi there,

So you may know I've been scraping tens of thousands of domains lately as I wanted to see what I can do.

I finally found a domain that impressed me.. I have a question now.

On ahrefs, all of it's metrics are for http://

How much of an issue is this going to be with my site being https

This is a good question. HTTPS and HTTP are different websites. I think the best you can do it's to copy the whole structure of the website ( with content, the same link structure, and do the best to keep the backlinks, etc ). Anyway, in the transfer process from the http to https, you may lose some link power.

is this good? I don't think that https and http are 2 different websites I think Google will prioritize the website https

Google don't treat them as 2 different websites in my knowledge.

OP , from my experience you will lose some " link juice" however if you re-build with relevancy in mind you will come to find out that age plays a massive part and ranking will come much sooner. Best wishes and luck with your project.

Thank you. I'm trying to keep it all good and the same. I'm thinking of starting a project with this domain, its the same industry/ niche etc.

I'll share result.

Domain was $7 on namecheap.

Scrapebox was $79, and my server is with rdpsh and was like $25.

Scraped about 100 domains that are TF10+/TF15+ to use.

I don't see such a big problem in here, just make a 301 redirect from the http://www.* and the http://* to the https://* (or https://www.*, with your preferences) and google will pass the link juice to it.

In fact, having a secured website is one of the google factors (not that big tho), but it can give you a little push.
Plus, there are way too many advantages of having an https website:

• Trust: most of the users will give a better trust to https over http, so that will help you to build more trust with the new users and audience
• Security: even if that's not a big deal, but sometimes it can be. People feel more secure with an https website, because it's more secure, especially if you have payments included
• It looks better: Ofc, that green locked pattern looks much better than security warning and that makes a good impact in users

It's back to you, after all, it's not that huge detail, but small details make the difference all together

Yes agree with you.
http and https are different sites. I had both versions of my urls indexed, http and https (silly mistake).
Redirecting http to https is safe, I don't think there is an issue with that.
Also, having SSL shows green pad lock icon in nav bar as compared to "not-secure" being displayed without SSL, which scares away non-technical users.

Go to google and search how your website is indexed!!! This is your first priority.

is it https:mysite.com or https:http://www.mysite.com

Then redirect everything to what google likes via htaccess or via wp plugins

So if Google show is http (non https)? or just www.domain.com and don't display https or http>

I'm 100% sure that Google treats them as one.

In Google Webmaster Console, they have the few month old now "Site Property" feature which treats www/no www as well as ssl/non-ssl versions of the domain name as the same site.

As far as traffic goes, the ssl version will avoid the unsafe site warning that's built into the browsers, so something like the SSL plugins mentioned or a rewrite in your conf files (if running Apache) will take care of it for you. You'll probably need to update some hard-coded images though.
