Definitely use a site with an encryption layer, especially if this is a money site. Google does care about this.

if you want to use the https://www. redirect everything to that

if you want to use the https://mysite.com redirect everything to that.

if google has cached the www, i would redirect everything to that form. I guess you can resubmit without the www via gsc but why care that much...

http and https both are different sites. You can redirecting http to https was safe
