I looked at this, but virtual locations are about $100+ a month, which of course I don't have the cash for that. Would I be able to do it for a month, have the postcard come from Google, then cancel or is that bad?

There are services providers on this forum and off that create verified physical listings for your desired location. Once you get a location verified you set up the GMB, optimize it and link it to your “city page”.

If your trying to rank in a near by city and your service is carpet cleaning you would have your gmb listing as “company name - City” if I’m
Not mistaken google has patents where it states that having the city name in it when you have other locations will rank better.

2. we dont encourage using the free google sites[/QUOTE]

I’ve seen people set up the free google website and use it as a parasite to buffer out the links. Within the GMB site you interlink to different areas of your website.

i got few maps form 3/4 years ranking not verified what to do can i pm you

try to claim them see what happens. If they're that old they may give you phone verify. If not just have the postcard sent and enter the pin and you're done

I run a local business and have done what I think is a good job on your 4 guidelines. Better then my competitors for sure. I rank #1 around my location but can’t get top 3 as I move farther away.

Any tips in this regard? Would addIng more gmb locations help this? Thx. Btw my keyword has businesses ranking that don’t even have sites or reviews.

yes more locations will help, but fyi its against google tos to do that so you need to make sure all are completely separate, not tied together in any way including the IP you use to login, website phone business name etc

So essentially create fake listIngs then create citations and reviews for them? How could I receive the traffic and calls without upsetting google?

setup a totally different looking website with a different phone that forwards to your main business phone

Hey Chad, its nice to see that you are still answering questions in this thread.

I would like to know, if you have ever experienced reviews or questions dissapearing from a google my business listing. I've seen in both fake listings and verified with card listings, in easy and hard niches. And i've tried to find what makes google my business engine trigger when a rating or question is actually Fake.

So far... I only use skype/whatsapp to trade info of the businesses I need interaction with, so I don't know how does google find when those reviews are fake and takes them off.

Im not a newbie here, I make sure the accs that are reviewing are local guide, don't review everyday multiple places, use their own 4g phone internet, are close to the place they are reviewing.. etc but sometimes they end up deleting those reviews :( Hope you can tell me if you know about this.

You all guys have a great day, excuse my non-native english,

Cheers.

given these factors, my next place to look would be to analyze the actual text they're using in the review, something in that text (grammar, vocab, etc) is giving away the fact that its a fake review. If a human looked at the review would they be able to identify it as fake?

Really, the best solution is to use REAL reviews ;)

Text used for that is obviously not copypasted, I ask for them to write a not so long review, and they do not seem to be fake.. so text used for reviews might not be the issue.

Anyways, thanks, as always, for your answer.

CHAD!!! You are fucking awesome. Just a shout out to you man, much love my brother. I have been following you since 07' - 08'. I have learned a great chunk of what I know thanks to you. Your google maps stuff is spot on. I ranked top 5 for electrician in NYC thru your tactics. Your a good family man and a decent guy, I can just tell from all these years of listening to you.
I google your name every once in a while to see what your up to.
Just glad to know that your still out there.
Peace and Love,
Josh

For an ecommerce site that targets only local audience, what kind of website content should i put and where? In blogs?

Thank you for your guidance, Chad.
I read this thread two or three times.

If the the address on the GMB is hidden (service business),
do citations still have a positive impact in that case?

And related to that, how does a hidden address affect schema and map embeds.
Specifically driving directions map embeds,
which as far as I can tell cannot be done except using address to address (without the GMB name or map pin).

Thank you so much for any thoughts on this.

What are some strategies that've worked for you to get high quality local/niche relevant links for your clients?

Yes citations still have an impact for hidden address listings, but it is less every year.
If the address is hidden in google maps, google does not give the option to get driving directions.

Hello Chad,

Thanks, soo much for this thread. I want to ask you something.
I have a GMB account that reflects the business name: let's say "Secret garden" and this business is in the GMB category erotic massage.
My competitors have in there business name also the main keyword for which they rank in this formula: Business Name + main Keyword+ city

My question is: It's ok if I use the same structure as my competitors?

Many thanks

It is not allowed according to Google guidelines.

If I were you I would start reporting all those locations for GMB spam, it will be a constant ongoing battle because they will just change it back.

You can also have your keyword in the title, you are always risking getting penalized though. Not sure if I know anyone who had their list removed because of just keywords in title though... But if you happen to have hundreds of positive reviews maybe you don't want to risk it anyways
